Transfer fees is borne by the sender by virtue of the banded NIP charges between 10.75 and 53.75 depending on the amount

Now, cybersecurity charge of 0.5% (No cap indicated so far. Meaning if u transfer 1m, 5k Cybersecurity charge Wil be due to you) to be borne(by sender since it is at the point of origination) on electronic transfers?

This is in bad taste and not thoroughly thought-out.
You can't be encouraging cashless transactions and at the same time increasing levies on electronic transactions.
Do these people even know what they're doing?

Burdening the people with your aggressive revenue policies is strangling the very life off the common man.
Making more money available to the government to languish on their luxurious living.
All the taxes hasn't translated into better life for Nigerians.

I understand that the government is desperate to raise IGR.

However, why using underhand and bogus names to fleece the already suffering and dying citizens?!!

The heading of your post is misleading, the charges is not on all transactions.

Yorubas use IGR to measure economic development. This is the after effect.

very insensitive, particularly at a time when banks are declaring record profits and people are being squeezed with high inflation....GTB declared ₦609.3billion, Access N619.32bn. FBN almost N400 billion. If funds are required for cybersecurity, the banks definitely can make some room to cover these costs
