This story if true is one of most troubling episodes in the life of the prophet.

In May 628 CE, the Muslims defeated several Jewish tribes (including the Banu Nadir) who lived at the oasis of Khayber which was attacked in the early morning without giving warning to the inhabitants.

The Jewish defenders surrendered and Saffiya’s husband Kinana ibn al Rabi who was the treasurer of the community refused to tell the Muslim victors the location of their treasure. The prophet had him tortured by one of the retainers by lighting a fire upon his chest and letting it burn slowly. He was later decapitated.

Saffiya who was 18 at the time and was extremely beautiful was taken by force from her surviving family and presented to the prophet who had sex with her within 3 days. Some Muslims deny the torture episode and say that Saffiya had strong romantic feelings for the prophet and willing accepted Islam and agreed to marry him.

Now anyone who has actually dealt with PTSD would be astonished at these unlikely events. Her tribe were the Banu Nadir who were immediately expelled from the oasis while the other tribes were allowed to stay on condition they gave 50% of the farm produce to the Muslims.

A young girl, whose husband has just been tortured and decapitated and her family and tribe driven away would not have “romantic” feelings for her captor.

According to Jewish tradition the period of mourning is 7 days - so also highly unlikely that a Jewish captive would willingly have sex with her captor just a day or two after her relatives had been killed and expelled.

A normal 18 year old would be experiencing severe post traumatic distress and would unlikely to have willingly consented to sex.

And the major question is why is sex such a prominent activity in a prophet of God? Why is he so Hot after a battle when he already had 9 wives?

He says sunnah is different from Allah. Thats the height of your ignorance. Every muslim knows that whatever the prophet said or did is commanded by Allah. Thats why anybody that reports the prophet doing something contrary to Quran will be rejected as false. Because he never did anything contrary to Quran.
