The lawyer called me today requesting a meeting. He said though they want to renovate the house they were not ready to evict anyone.
We're looking at alternatives of where to put items and other things during renovations.

Rent is crazy , reason I'm very sceptical
By the time you put together agency and agreement and commission and al those nonsense money we'd be looking at millions for a mini flat

Where is the money to renew your lease once your lease expires? Use the same money to pay for a new property. If you have to downsize then do so. This is somebody’s house and they have given you sufficient advance notice.

The 6 month notice is what one will tag as "over wiseness".

The 6 months' notice actually covers his rent period which is only accepted by people that doesn't know their rights, the notice should start from the expiration of his rent and not in between his rent.

Hi I have a friend of mine who stays in Lagos, he has a problem and has been unable to pay his rent for almost a year, the rent has expired since July and now his landlord is telling him to pay by next week or pack out of the house. He's arguing that the landlord is mandated by law to serve him a 6 months quit notice before he can leave but I'm telling him to find his way out of there as soon as he can since his rent has expired.
Is he right with what he's saying or should he instead take my advice ?

Na 2 of the tenants dey frustrate me since because I no dey country since. So they dey take advantage of that.

The aboki own dey pain me pass because he dey block my call if he hear my voice for phone. If I use another number call he go drop the call then block the number.

The other one still dey plead for more time but he too dey owe up to 1 year plus now.

I see say them no serious so I want evict both of them.

I lost my phones recently with my contacts including my lawyer numbers na why everything just dey somehow for me.

In all na 4 tenants. The other 2 still dey try meet up payments even though dem dey owe ocationally.

Must it be issued by a Lawyer? Can't the landlord issue the quit notice and the seven days notice himself?

So today the lawyer in charge of the property I stay in brought a notice to quit for us. Our rent is due November 31st and in the quit notice, it states we must leave that same date.

Please I want to ask is this what the law states ? Because he claims we now have 6 months notice to vacate the apartment even as our rent will be due in November...
