Please how did River Hoopers employ foreigners on their basketball roaster to play for them at the on going @theball.?

How are they paying them?
The BAL is an initiative of the NBA, so all participating teams are very likely to be well paid.. the money to pay them should come from there

Boss, I strongly disagree with you on this.

Below is his highlights in that match and his performance was a good example of what a typical 10 was in those days.

It was in this match he created the record of the most dribbles completed in a World Cup match.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jGC9lQPHsA

You said a typical 10.

That' means he should have high number of assists garnished with a few goals.

JJ played too much for the gallery, show boating and absolutely skintilating off the scale skills and tricks. I watched him mesmerized.

However, looking at his performance, devoid of emotions, he was sometimes found wanting over dribbling and hugging the ball ⚽. I suspect his stats at both national and club level are not great.

Had the most dribbles but how many assists and goals did he make and or score ❓His DNA 🧬 is the same at club level it seems.

Did they allocate players to each team or those playing for River Hoopers are the same players playing in the Nigerian league?

Most of these players are no longer the ones that made us Happy in the 90s. Oyo for who wan gbe mata sori like say they get best interest of SE at heart. Once we exhaust the 90s set in this coaching debacles, i wonder who they'll start with from the 2000s 😆

Let's compare him to his could have been, but can NO longer be successor Eberechi Eze.

JJay 124 games over 4 seasons for Bolton in the EPL he played 124 game scored 14 goals

Eze 110 games over 4 seasons for CP & counting in EPL
Played 110 games scores 23 goals

I am not saying Eze is on JJay level but the comparison highlights the issue. I would have expected JJay to have double that goal 🥅 tally at least.

quite disappointed compared to the narrative. I was expecting to see okocha getting dispossessed after dribbling but I'm seeing through balls and long balls. Well, it's in the nature of Nigerians to exaggerate

That's one

But you should know club will look at just one striker they will look at several strikers compare attributes, costs and what best suits their system and strategy.

They will be looking at several forward players at the same time.
Only Rashford? But you clearly mentioned 'strikers'. I was expecting you to list like 3 strikers at least.

Absolutely
Especially when you consider that JayJay once kept Ronaldinho on the bench at PSG
I think it was that 2002 world cup season that he really stepped up in goals and assists

If you watch any JayJay highlights videos, they often showcase his tricks and skills but many of his passes were misplaced as well

If he had only been more purposeful or direct, we probably would have won more than we did at national level and maybe he would have gotten atleast one APOTY award

Jay Jay didn’t kept Ronaldinho on the bench,it was Nigerians way of expressing how good Okocha was,yes young Ronaldinho met him and learnt few tricks……Ronaldinho spent two seasons with PSG and played 55 matches with 17 goals to tell you he wasn’t benched and Okocha spent four seasons played 84 matches scored 12 goals,in fact Okocha was sold cuz of Ronaldinho.

Okocha not winning APOTY still a debate cuz we have seen players who didn’t perform as he does that have won it,so is not about him not being ambitious, losing to Mustapha Hadji still surprising.

In the 80s and early 90s a French Magazine organized APOTY and if you check properly you see French speaking countries winning it or players playing in the French league. It was Rashidi Yekini that broke the record if not we would have had Emma Okala,Christian Chuckwu,Stephen Keshi Ricky Owubokiri and Segun Odegbami as APOTY winners.

Well, that's another angle
But I still maintain if he had more goals and assists, it may have been more difficult for any of the organizers to ignore him for the APOTY award
But it's past now, we can only speculate

Seeing as you can read my mind and are a mind reader. Please tell me what is my line of thoughts 💭💭.

You clearly did not not notice, I did not mention ASSISTS I talked about GOALS.

Did you know that at one stage JJAY had the most shots in a game in the league. The highest number of goals he scored in a season was 7 goals.

My view is that considering his incredible talent he should have scored more .By comparison in 2013/14 Yaya scored 20 goals for Manchester city in the EPL.

Exaggerating plenty gaan. Guy was quick with great passes when he sae an opening and hesitant when there was no opening. He didn't get dispossessed and yet Nigerians make him look like some Uchebo on most occasions. If the chances he created ended in us winning that game, the narrative would be "JJ was phenomenal"

Nobody talks about the wastefulness of those he was passing to in finally 3rd from deep. Smh.

There's no doubt that JayJay was an incredibly talented player infact I would put him in my all time top 10 greatest Nigerian players but let's call a spade a spade and not just a farming implement. Okocha wasn't as efficient and effective as he could have been given his immense talents.

His propensity to hug the ball too long sometimes disrupted the SE attacking flow. Watch the USA 1994 games where he didn't play and compare to the Italy game. Even the 2000 AFCON watch the semifinal match against SA where he was suspended then compare to the other SE games in the tournament to get what I mean.
