chrisooblog: This is not true, on the contrary, we struggled in d match he did not play. You mentioned the semi final against SA and forgot the opening match against Tunisia where he was unplayable. Watch the AFCON 94 final against Zambia on YouTube, the Zambians ran riot in the midfield once okocha was removed. Even Pele who was in the stands said he stopped enjoying thatch the moment Okocha was substituted. I doubt we would have won the semi finals against CIV in that AFCON if not for Okocha. Nomyth: Very nice clip that showcased the strength of Okocha. Very dazzling and interesting to watch. However, it also showed some of his deficiencies. There are times in that clip that his teammates were in favorable spaces and he chose to hold the ball to skin players. Either way, Okocha was effective and I believe he would have done more for us playing further up the field. 1 Like |

chrisooblog: I don't disagree with that. Only that it gets exaggerated beyond normal. Many of those forwards till date don't get stick for their crappy display till date because alllll the FOCUS is on JJ. Their hype and legendary status is shielding them than normal. Infact it's only recently many admit Yekini was out of form at some point. |

cc: TheSuperNerd "We have intensively analysed the season so far," said Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl after announcing the return of his two former teammates. "One of our shared findings was the desire to give fresh impetus to the coaching staff. In Nuri Şahin and Sven Bender we’re adding two specialists and personalities who will enrich us both in terms of content and character thanks to their different experience and qualities. We’re convinced the two of them will make us stronger as a team in order to reach our goals in the second half of the season." https://amp.bundesliga.com/en/bundesliga/news/borussia-dortmund-name-nuri-sahin-sven-bender-assistant-coaches-terzic-25791 I think this should go down as one of the most revolutionary and transformative decision in European coaching. The way the club transformed in these few months is remarkable. We will see how next season goes. 1 Like 1 Share

Nomyth:Those who always try to play down Okocha's contributions or his effectiveness don't know what they r talking about. Given the level of the teams he played for,he did quite well,if he had been lucky or chosen to play for the top clubs,he would have achieved far more than this and would be well more appreciated 2 Likes |

TheLoneCitizen:arsenal makes more sense. They can't get anywhere with haysus and they can't always use a no striker pattern for too long. Even pep used the no striker pattern for just one season before dipping hand into the chest and purchasing haaland. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Amedino99(m): 11:10pm On May 08 |
Napoleon55:that's the issue with being burdened with expectations. No one really sees your performance as decent, they will always benchmark it against their expectations. The blaming of jay jay is not unexpected. It makes sense given our long standing history of blaming someone whenever we fail to progress in a competition. In 2021 we blamed okoye even tho our strikers could not score just one goal in 90 mins. Iwobi was blamed for this afcon final despite that he was not on the pitch when they scored the winner. |

lbrichman2: Unfortunately the players don't decide it's the club. It's apparent that Chelsea are not completely convinced about VO and it seems the fans are not that keen either. Arsenal is doubtful and Liverpool is just rumours so far. VO is a quintessential number 9 that thrives in a pyramid system, that is not how these teams play. And his price £100+tag makes it very hard for clubs to gamble.and or take a chance on him. It's a kind of all or nothing. Napoli will like the £100 million plus but know that without VO next season, they will struggle even more than they did this season.. So Napoli will not sell him for any thing less than es £100 million , they may do a player swap . But let's see the coming month's will be interesting 🧐 |

komekn: Shortly after winning african player if th year last year, osimhen did a fantastic assist in a match for napoli. In thr nations cup last group match osimhen made a defence splitting pass from midfield but the player he passed to was offside. U font watch osimhens game. His technicality and all round game will get him into arsenal and Liverpool easily. The way he keeps centre backs busy is even good as the wingers and midfielders will find space to operate. U are saying pure nonsense. The only weakness I. His game is offside awareness and his finishing has to improve. U hVe been saying this stuff for sometime. OK look at the penalty he eon against south africa in afcon. Also there was a season he won more penalties than a lot of other forwards in Europe. Mr liar he can play even in Barcelona. Just work on his offside that's akl 1 Like |

Osimhen's decision to sign a new deal with Napoli appears to have backfired, with Napoli supporters turning on him due to the high wages involved and the release clause that has angered fans of his rumored preferred clubs. It seems he missed an opportunity last year when he had more leverage with his contract and several clubs were in need of a striker. Clubs like Manchester United, with Hojl, Liverpool with Nunez, Chelsea with Jackson and Lukaku, Bayern with Kane, and PSG with Kolo and Ramos, may not be willing to spend over 100 million on another striker, especially when there are cheaper options available, considering Osimhen's modest goal tally of 15 or 16 non-penalty goals this season. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2023, 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Marjoribanks: 2:21am On May 09 |
It seems Osimhen's potential move to Liverpool is still on the cards. Barcelona is eyeing Nunez as a replacement for Lewandowski, but many Barca fans are hoping for a bid for Osimhen instead. The upcoming summer transfer window promises to be exciting. Will Chelsea be ready to part with 90 million pounds plus Lukaku? Will Arsenal take a chance on Osimhen after their significant spending last season? Osimhen must continue scoring goals to keep his options open, albeit limited |
