I used self paced videos which i watch on my own and picked up all forms of skills from myriads of those videos.

Well, it wasn't immediately ... it took a while ..... I used the skills for church media production for a while before dashing out ....but things are easier these days ...

i think you should just get yourself a decent laptop first, the rest is easy as long as you can sit down to learn and practice...

Feel free to buzz me if u need further assistance ....

Cheers

Well, contrary to what the genz guys would tell u, a core i5 2.5ghz processor, 8gb ram, 128 or 256gb SSD, 1gb dedicated graphics, would do ...

Hp elitebook 8460p has that specs and goes for around 120k in Ikeja and it's a great start...

From there, u can migrate to a slightly higher specs as u begin to make money ...

I have a Microsoft Surface Pro 3 that will meet your requirements. Tablet only. You will need to buy wireless mouse and keyboard (maybe 10-15k) to use with it cos the touchscreen is non functional

DaVinci Resolve will not work on such a laptop.
And even when using other softwares on that kind of laptop, you can't edit 4k videos. Did it work for you?
Re: Please Recommend Good Laptop For Graphic Design Under 150k by bigl: 1:48pm On Jun 16, 2024
On the contrary, it did ...

See, if that's what he/she can afford at this point in time, then, that's what can be bought...

Its not about the speed or how expensive these machines are but how well optimized your project is....

And yeah, no be everybody dey use davinci resolve and that doesn't even mean you can't get good output from other softwares ....

can you pls recommend a laptop for me
My Budget is 150k
I have an hp revolve I was using for a while 8gb/256gb Touchscreen keyboard light. Works perfectly with some caveat (wear and tear from usage, an unnoticeable line on screen). I can drop it for 100K for based on you're just starting out. I recently just change the battery. You can HMU for images and possibly inspection

I lost my dad second year in university while opportunity
Re: Please Recommend Good Laptop For Graphic Design Under 150k by bigl: 10:26pm On Aug 03, 2024
Hey bro, howdy?

Sorry about the demise of your dad and also your school issues et al… life happens and we just have to find a way to deal with it … life has to go on …

You’re super duper lucky someone is willing to part with 1 milla for u … well, that’s the breakthrough u need as regards seed fund to jump start your journey into career/business…. Wish I was this lucky like u …

If possible, influence your NYSC posting to somewhere u can grow fast, like lagos … you’ll learn a lot fast and grow, rather than spending your 1 year in a remote village where u might not even smell electricity/internet for a while …

Web Development is a good stuff to go for and u can get up to speed with the basics in some months if you’re willing to really give it time.

Cinematography / Video editing/ motion graphics / 3d are also good fields you can dabble into and do well while making good money.

But u should understand that there’s a learning stage and then, earning stage?

To get u started, u will need a laptop and trust me, I am not part to those Gen Zees that will tell u that u must buy 4 million laptop before u can start video editing or web dev, all na lie dem dey lie.

U can get started with a laptop of about 200k (I don’t mean those pepper-yoyo touch screen laptops o, don’t buy them) .. something like core i5 or i7, 8gb /12gb/16gb ram, Storage should be SSD, 15.6 inches is ok and a battery life of say 3 hours is fine … it can be windows or Mac but I’ll recommend u getting a Mac for a start: a 13 inch 2012 MacBook Pro (specs above apply) will suffice cos of the price, battery life and upgradeability …

Once u have that, next stage is to decide if you’re the type that can learn on his own with video tuts or u need to enrol in a school to learn these stuffs.

I’ll recommend a hybrid approach: Learn via courses but try to apply as an intern (without pay) at a company that does what u wish to learn … like a media or web development company/agency where what u want to end up doing is what they are doing …

I learnt a lot on my own using self taught videos sha and later, started mingling with guys who are top guns in the fields i want ...

Combining what you’re learning at home and what you’re learning on the job will fast track your growth … your internship might not be more than 3 months … during which that balance u have from your seed fund can be used to survive (spend wisely: no carrying of ladies Ugandan or u go know how far)… They may even end up employing you cos you will have mastered how to do quite a lot from them while running around as their “mumu errand boy” and doing assignments given to u … And if they don’t employ u, u will have gotten a lot of links via working with them

By the way, Nigeria of today, u can't sit down with just 1 thing ... u gas learn 2 or more things to be able to make enough to sustain your existence ...

My advice is to: Start small, scale up and keep growing … if u need further clarification or help, drop your whatsapp line and I’ll reach out to u.

I lost my dad second year in university while schooling in a private uni in Benin republic..cuz of lack of funds I was only coming to write exams thru the help of my peers..at the end of duration of the course in order to go for nysc in 2017.my bill was almost a million naira with miscellaneous it gonna pass that mark...now 2024 ....I got this bro in the UK who said he had only a million to spend and I should not bother him about anything after that...he was asking if I wanted to go and pay the debt and go for nysc or do something else like business
Firstly am not sure of a good career job after the end of the NYSC.
Secondly I don't know a thing bout computer science again but I know am gonna catch up if I could find the money to go for any of the web development courses
Thirdly I got passion for art even though I don't have talent for singing..I love sounds, movies and the special effects they use in making them but I don't really have much time to waste in much passion..I need something that I could do and earn and be independent
Have researched and was fixed on video editing and cinematography before...but have discovered even more with 3d animation,3d modelling, motion graphics,etc...I love them all

but I really need help on the one I could learn that will get me on my feet quickly...and the cost of training and tools needed that won't pass the said amount...I don't wanna blow this opportunity
