I suspect she was caught cheating with another guy but rather than the guy cancel the wedding he went along to marry her. That's my opinion.

That was how my wife was crying on our wedding day when she was escorted into the car to be taken to our honetown. She held on tight to her parents and refused to let go until my mum shouted at her.
