I thought you were an adult seeking true education with facts. I should've know you're a known troll seeking an everyday interaction with Igbos to boost your inferior social identity.
If ijaws catch you, they'd slap your head. Amayanabo is ijaw originated. ibo language dominated eastern region due to their large population and migration, it was the common language used for trade and communication during slave era, just as hausa language in the north.

That was how I went with a couple of friends (4 of us) to the abattoir to share a cow. One Yoruba guy mistakenly called an Ika man "Ibo". Omo, the Ika guy almost punched the Yoruba guy ooo saying their origin is Bini. He said Ibo migrated into their region and started influencing others, and later started thinking they can grab their land. lol.
These guys hate to be associated with ibos. To put things into perspective Jim Ovia, Emefiele, obaigbena, hanks anuku e.t.c are Ikas

Igbo and not Ibo.
Tick head
Documented history recorded it as ibo. You don't know your history.

I said a few tribes, i didn't limit it to only ijaw. And there's no ocean/sea in the north. Those rivers are just a few feet deep.
Do you know most deep rivers in the East flows from the ocean and seas? We even have Oguta and Egbema too
There are some deep water areas in the North even Lake Chad

Badagry in the South West has access to the ocean

Ijaws shouldn't think they're the only ones surrounded by deep waters

Ika traced their lineage to benin. A popular sport journalist who worked in Channels tv told me they are ika and never ibo. When ibos are making these claims, many of these minority tribes just laugh at them.

You can't compare lakes and rivers to a sea, they are just a channel to the sea.

You only have rivers where you take bath and fetch to drink, that's different from living on water or around water. The nature of ibo is not water friendly.

When do ibos start living on water?, can they swim?, do they have any history of being fishermen?. Have they ever traded with the European on the sea?, have they ever fought on water?. So why are they claiming the ocean bodies of Bonny and Opobo?.
The kings of Bonny and Opobo bear the ijaw title of Amayanabo. Jaja of Opobo was an ibo slave purchased by ijaw merchants to work as a slave. The nickname Jaja was an ijaw name given to him to embrace him into the royal house. Ibos were captured from the hinterlands and sold as slaves in Bonny, many would then settle after abolishment of slave trade while others migrated to present day bonny.

Everybody in Bonny migrated from elsewhere but Igbos are majority. The reason it is considered as Ijawland is because the earliest settlers were Ijaw while Igbos populated it in bulk later either as traders, slaves, mercenaries or acculturated slaves. In answer to the bolded Igbos were always the better traders whether with Europeans or with fellow Africans and yes fishing is a predominant occupation among various Igbo groups especially the ones living near large water bodies.

No colonial document supports the claim that Ijaws were the first settlers in Bonny or Opobo.
If you have any, please post it here, I would want to learn too.

Most history in Africa were undocumented so the Europeans documented what they met at that point in time of which Igbo was already there however when you look at the migratory pattern and proximity to both Ijawland and Igboland it is more likely that Bonny was first settled by Ijaws before Igbos.

While i agrees ibos traded commodities with other africans, i have not yet come across them trade commodities with europeans in any historical documents.
Modified: ibos traded palm oil with the europeans through third party traders.

So why is Bonny governed by the ruiling houses established by the Amayanabo?. Did ijaws displaced the ibos they met there and took over?

In this ancient document, it clearly states that the kings of Bonny and Kalabari are of Igbo ancestry, so your point can't even make it past the first hurdle.

The only language spoken in Opobo and bonny is igbo. The culture is igbo. Food is igbo.

What else do you need to know that these people are igbos.

waited for you to answer my first question but you ran away.
Amayanabo is not an Ijaw title perse. Ijaw word for king is perekule not Amayanabo.

There are even proofs the word has ndoki origin. Again, for the records, Opobo and Bonny people are basically Ndoki Igbos. They speak Igbo and practice Igbo culture. However, riverine people of the nigerdelta be it Igbos, those in Bayelsa, Ibenos, Urhobo etc have a certain way of life peculiar to them such answering European names. Opobo and Bonny are not exceptions but that does not diminish their Igboness.

I am currently watching governor Fubara of Rivers state commissioning a road and a Kalabari leader who called the Governor an Ijaw man had to interpret the Kalabari language to governor in English Lol

Later they will say he's an Ijaw man. Fubara that came out publicly to declare he's Igbo.

The two attached ancient snippets, show that Igbos are the original people of Bonny.

Ijoids only came afterwards. UBANI is an Igbo word which means @richness of Land@

Read very well the first sentence on the screenshot. Captain Adams himself admitted that his opinion of the natives of Bonny was probable (not certain or definate). the native language of Bonny is ibani but people speak ibos predominantly because of trade. you can easily mistaken the natives as ibos. One can pardon the foreign man for mistaken identity.

Ibani language is the language of the native, but ibo is the common language just like hausa in the north.
