So in this people mind, the average private nursery school in Benue or Osun can afford to pay each of their teachers 500,000, and that one-man struggling business can afford to pay their cleaner 500,000k per month or you think minimum wage begins and ends at the public office, in fact, currently some states ain't even generating enough to pay the 30k minimum wage,

if level one step one is 500k, how much will fresh graduates which usually start at level 8 receive, 3.5million monthly I guess, then a level 13/14 senior public servant will receive 13m monthly or do you intend to pay level one step one 500k but intend to pay level fourteen 600k?
Just leave NLC with their madness.
Na laugh I dey here grin
Anyway at least my 12.5m/month go sure be that.
Let us all be mad together. grin

How is Seychelles able to do it that their minimum wage is $460 that is about 690,000 Naira per month, How is Botswana a landlocked nation in Southern Africa able to do it that the minimum wage is $330 that is about 495,000 Naira.

What about poor Mozambique paying between $150-$250
What about South Africa paying $1,200, or
Kenya $400-$500

The real problem is our approach to Human Development here in West Africa. We have the weakest Human Development Index in the world meaning that we have the lowest wages and Standard of Living.

If Obasanjo upgraded the minimum wage and it improved the standard of living during his first term of Presidency it's over 20 years now should we still be wallowing in what will make us weak or just increase the money and put in mechanism to ensure that the workers produce x10 or even x100 of their pay

I don laugh tire for this your caparative analysis
grin

Please first compare the exchange rate and GDP per capita ,of the various countries you‘ve mentioned.

Why not clamour for the same figures across board, i mean with politicians as the minimum wage since their demand isn't realistic

Look at it this way, according to UN, to be above the poverty line, you must spend atleast $2 per day.

$2 per day is N3000 per day(1500*2). That is N90,000 per month for a bachelor.

How much will be enough for a family of one man, one woman and two children? 90,000 x 4 = N360, 000!

Anything below this, they're living in poverty!

You are the one who is outrightly incapable of using his head, I'm a business owner and there is no way on earth I can afford to pay my support staff 500k each, what revenue is their impact generating for cleaner to think he will take home 6m per year

Infact some bakery around me can't even declare 6m naira profit at the end of the year, yet you think they will pay each mixer, each driver, each marker 6million naira per year, If I pay my cleaners 6m per year how much will I pay operating managers?

Sometimes I wonder if it's election you lost or your brain, I don't give a Bleep about your governor or your president but to you everything is politics with senseless bitterness

Are you an entrepreneur or a biz owner? Did you consider the private sector? The state governments nko?
From 30k to 500k, does that even make sense to you? Where do you expect government to get the money from? Do you know the type of inflation this could cause, even though it's unrealistic?

channel your wonderful question to the government and let them explain how They brought Nigerians to this point.
Nigerians should not always have to pay for the continuous misdeeds of our government.

one person just stole 80 billion. this is just one person while the rest have been doing it with all their family for decades and that will not cause inflation.

Labour should get serious with their negotiation. Demanding such an amount amounts to deliberate attempt to, as usual, betray Nigerian workers and drag this issue endlessly.

Be realistic with the figures you are pushing. It should be within 80k and 120k. Anything more than this simply reveals that labour leaders are working with government to scuttle and delay any upward review of wages.

How did fuel jumped from #250 to 650, how did a bag of rice jumped from 18k to 70k, how did doller jumped from #450 to #1500. Allow labour to do there work, who told you the labour proposed amount cannot be achieved, workers are not slaves. Politicians increase their earnings and loot our common resources while you're here defending same people that put the whole nation into agony. Check the price of commodities around you and you will get the answer except you're not in this country

do you know 500k just $333 dollar a month. You know if they call 500k it looks big untill you convert it to dollar. Do you know $333 is $13 per day? For 24 days. Did you know that kogi state former governor Yahaya bello, stashed $55,555 million dollars away? Do you know how many ordinary $333 dollar is in $55,555 million Dollar's? Did you know if 50,000 thousand workers were paid $333 it will only amount to $16.65 million dollars? Bro, it's not realistic. Many people forget that when these wage increases are being negotiated it's normally for the federal workers who are a minute percentage of the whole country's workforce from the private sector to the state civic service. We all know that the OPS might be part of the negotiations but how many private employers actually pay the minimum wage?
