I watched the video and now understand why some people felt she started well but didn't end it well. She had everything written down and was just trying to read it all. She wasn't asking any questions.

The problem with these Western liberals is always their one-sided sympathetic understanding of things.

While Shell isn't entirely innocent, she sounds completely oblivious to the problem of vandalism, sabotage and artisanal mining which is the main cause of pollution in the Niger Delta. That's why shell wants to leave Nigeria. How many times have you heard of spillages in Angola? Total and Chevron have been there for years.

Secondly what she's calling shadow companies are actually consortiums set up by Nigerian businessmen to buy up Shell's onshore assets. Such as Renaissance and co.

The best is for FG to ban onshore activities because the kind of spillages that will happen when Nigerian corporations take over will be magnitudes worse. Nigerian corporations don't give a f.uck about human rights.
