If work carry you to those yonder with one track road, then a tractor is before you, just turn back and follow another route.
If there is no other road, just switch off and sleep
One day, we practically had to wait one hr plus in one country side for a newly wedded riding on horse.
At a point, my head stopped the fake smile and told them to clear, we had an emergency to attend to.
It was colourful though.

We are in place called Ambleside. The name of the lake is Grasmere, so you can go boating on the lake.

You can follow trails up the different mountains, a lot of hotels have Spa's.

There is also the Beatrice Potter Museum ( Author of Peter Rabbit) in Windermere. Loads of Cafes, restaurants, bars etc. But I think this is a place you come to appreciate the natural beauty, get away from hustle bustle and just unwind.
