I have read several responses to Prof. Soyinka's position, but none have directly addressed his primary concern regarding personal integrity. He argues that the candidate misrepresented their discussions in the press release issued after their meeting. What many fail to recognize is that politics is more about trust than competence if you cannot keep your word why should anyone trust you with power.

No doubt Prof Wole Soyinka is known globally due to his youthful exploits, and that is why I said he is living in his past glory, he ought to have left the stage long time ago when the ovation was still very high for him. As at today, Prof Wole Soyinka has lost the respect of millions of people who once revered him, I am one of them.


I don't care about his position on Nnamdi Kanu matter, I am not here to fight for Igbo tribe, Nnamdi Kanu is fighting a cause he believes in and it comes at a price and he is paying the price already, so if it is his destiny to achieve his goal, he will, but if it's not, that's his cross to bear but be rest assured that Nnamdi Kanu's death or whatever will never bring an end to Biafra agitation. 2023 Presidential election would have buried Biafra agitation forever, Nigeria missed the opportunity because of one man's unnatural ambition.


Back to Prof Wole Soyinka's criticisms of Obi, if you are asked to comment on it, does he and that other foolish fugitive called Reno Omockery make any sense? To them, Peter Obi is a man of impeccable character no doubt but his supporters are dangerous and incompetent and for that, Peter Obi should never become President.

you are right about the failure of his
generation towards nation building, but at least Oga Soyinka made a serious attempt to change the ugly narratives, unlike some of the other cowards.
It's even an irony that his efforts to instill unity among the youths to fight social justice in our academic institutions, by establishing confraternities was later corrupted into negative cultism, infact black world have peculiar problems.

There is nothing inherently political about Prof. Soyinka's views, yet no one seems willing to address his concerns directly. Perhaps it is because his points hit too close to the truth. However, there is still a way to manage the situation to achieve an end to hostility while winning over many neutral parties to your side. I wonder what the strategists of the oppositions spend their time doing. You do not win elections by creating new enemies every day or attacking thought leaders.

I think of the three bands of supporters we have in Nigeria presently, Buharists, BATists and Obidients, I think Obidients are still the most tolerable and law abiding.
The Buharists murdered people when they lost in 2011. The BATists threatened a sitting govt with forming a parallel govt in 2015 and also threatened voters in 2023. Both are criminal offences. While Obidients are aggressive and radical, their rascality is still at the point of intellectual debate and verbal fisticuffs. But I understand they are the most hated because the other two are aligned in hatred and disgust for them.

As for Prof. Wole Soyinka, I understand his filial alignment with Tinubu. After all, they were in NADECO together. And they have maintained very close and cordial relations since then. He is no bigot. But unfortunately he jumped into the political arena to pick sides which opened him up to ridicule.
