It is called committee of friends and I think members are being consulted first before being added to the committee, and it's in that committee meeting they will decide to create a WhatsApp group

Sometime in February, I was replying some important whatsapp messages when I suddenly found myself added to a new whatsapp group by a random dude who has my number.

This guy added me to a group that was created for the purpose of monitory contributions for the marriage ceremony of a mutual acquaintance.

The group admin ever since has posted messages at intervals asking members of the group to contribute money for his friend's wedding.

I know the guy who is about to wed quite alright but we are not friends and I'm not sure we have even had a phone conversation together. We just see once in a while and say hello.

The guy getting married didn't even extend any wedding invite to me in person. And while I won't rule out the idea of gifting him for his wedding, I believe adding me to a group and asking me for money is absurd and annoying.

Who else has encountered this kind of situation and how did you handle it.
Exactly my experience. The only difference is that, I knew this guy during our NYSC days but we aren't friends as such. He never told me he was getting married but I saw it on his status. Suddenly, I was added to a group by a number I didn't have on my list, and daily message started rolling in for contribution.

I just stayed mute until the group was deleted.
If you don't have money for your wedding then do am in a low-key.

I dislike people who always want to do more than their power. When you toast the girl, I been no dey there.

Stingy ass woman 🙄
Yes Sir.
I am very stingy.

We didn't bother any one with creating groups and forcing people to raise funds.
We did it according to our financial power.

I wonder!

If you did not contribute during a person's wedding then you have no right to ask the person to contribute during your own wedding
