The Enugu State Government on Wednesday warned the Indigenous People of Biafra against scuttling the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination in the state.

IPOB, a pro-Biafra group declared May 30, 2024, (tomorrow) a sit-at-home for the remembrance of Biafrans who died during the Biafra and Nigeria civil war.

Reacting to the sit-at-home order, the government in a statement issued by the Commissioner for Information, Mr Aka Eze Aka, said that the directive was contrary to what their forebears fought for.

Urging candidates and those involved in the conduct of the examination and other enterprises to go about their legitimate businesses, the commissioner assured that the state had taken steps to ensure adequate security of lives and property.

I don’t know it. I don’t care about it. Thank God I’m no longer in primary school. I will teach my children the one I learned as a child. I know very well the next administration will reverse the decision.

The hush hush manner the national anthem was changed from the new to the old without any public hearing remains suspect.



Both the legislature and the executive should be told in unmistaken terms that the problem with Nigeria goes beyond national anthem.




Without a positive renewal of the mindset of the average Nigerian, merely singing the national anthem won't achieve anything tangible.




However, Oby is merely seeking attention.



She spoke out more out of bitterness and frustration and not out of a sense of patriotism.




Whether she agrees to sing the old, now new anthem, is her own cup of tea.

I never liked the old new anthem. I don’t know why people are unduly sensitive over “native” and “tribe”. Do we not have tribes, do we not have native lands?
