They did not even think through the consequences of them shutting down the national grid which would plunged Nigeria into darkness . They realized it was a big bleeped up when some political elites who used to support their actions back down their support and ask them to be realistic and not to be wicked adding more hardship. Government could have prosecuted them for that act alone , but instead bring them back to the table with must or. Ajaero is the most useless NLC president in Nigeria. Most of his actions are not well thought |

helinues:You are the real Enemy of Nigeria ......I have never seen an enemy of the people and Country like this dude, it's really pathetic to see a supposed youth behaving like this one. All because you find a way to eat from the government, self-centered mofo. Ordinary Chad is paying triple of what Nigeria can offer and you are here spewing trash |

You are the one that is very senseless and jobless. The one day action was largely a success. The airports and national grid was completely shutdown for 24 hours +. APC/Tinubu is a curse upon this nation.

helinues:From N30,000 to over N60,000 probably gonna stop at 70 or 80k after negotiation is concluded in a week time according to the agreement reached , that's a successful strike . NLC performed excellently well this time . |
| Re: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by DMerciful(m): 6:28am On Jun 04, 2024 |
They did not...they asked their workers to leave |
| Re: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by helinues(op): 6:28am On Jun 04, 2024 |
0001Lagos:The sincere question is, why did they waste time initially insisting on N500k when they knew that can never be possible? |
| Re: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by helinues(op): 6:30am On Jun 04, 2024 |
DMerciful:Them shutting down the national grid was a mistake. Can't you see they are the one ready to go back to the table. Government can prosecute them for that nonsense act. You can shut down other things but not like electricity. That was actually senseless and thoughtless |

0001Lagos:FG initially proposed N48k, Private sectors proposed N54k, why should labour proposed N500k? Which negotiations can you make with unrealistic N500k minimum wage proposal? |
| Re: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by 0001Lagos: 6:34am On Jun 04, 2024 |
helinues:Your FG that you said proposed N48k has raised the bar to over 60k . That's why it's called negotiation . If FG no gree labour own, labour no go agree from Dem own so the only way to resolve the issue is to negotiate and agree on a wage and that's what the labour have done. And we Nigerians are happy. The labour union won. |
| Re: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by helinues(op): 6:35am On Jun 04, 2024 |
0001Lagos:Did you miss the word initially? How did Labour win here when whatever the negotiations that would be made about the new minimum wage won't even get close to N100k. Check the margin difference between FG's proposal and Labour's own and see who the real loser is here 0001Lagos:You see, I stopped responding to your message when I realized the person behind it. Don't derail this thread.. Allow other members to make their contributions without booking unnecessary space with incoherent comments. Thank you |
| Re: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by 0001Lagos: 6:39am On Jun 04, 2024 |
helinues:The current minimum wage is 30k if I'm not mistaken . And labour union getting over 40 or 50 or even 70k additional to the N30k from the government isn't a bad negotiation. Ajaero performed excellently well . |

You are just senseless but not entirely useless, at least u can still write rubbish |

So you saw only Ajero? What about Usifo? Infact Labour disappointed by agreeing to suspend the strike What is 60k? I thought you were sawing labour wont be able to mobilise? helinues: |
| Re: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by helinues(op): 6:44am On Jun 04, 2024 |
DMerciful:Mobilize? How many states did they take action yesterday? If they are not interested to suspend the strike, then government should prosecute them for the deliberate saboteur of shutting down the national grid. Simple as Abc |

helinues:The same government that was begging the union members to return to negotiating table ? Guy, stop talking like a little child |

Coming from the same guy who supported subsidy removal and electricity hike. Hyper inflation. With all the inflation tinubu have caused 500k minimum is fair enough |
| Re: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by helinues(op): 6:47am On Jun 04, 2024 |
wirinet:Heh So you went to the market to buy fish which normally the price should be between N1500-N2000 but on pricing , the seller called it for you N20k. Would you bother to negotiate further in such scenario ? |

The power grid collapse all the time besides they only asked their workers to leave. You don't expect the plants to run themselves? helinues: |
| Re: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by helinues(op): 6:49am On Jun 04, 2024 |

| Re: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by DMerciful(m): 6:55am On Jun 04, 2024 |
Don't divert from the main issue which is the fact that the last minimum expired in April and 60k is not acceptable. If govt did not push labour to this limit, this wouldn't have happened helinues: |

helinues:Can you live on 48/54k? Some of you just talk anyhow. Please leave politics alone. We are talking about the wellbeing of a lot of people here. By the way I also don’t support shutting down the grid. It just leads to more suffering for the masses. |
| Re: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by helinues(op): 6:57am On Jun 04, 2024 |
DMerciful:Are you aware that Abia state is still paying N18k as minimum wage? |
| Re: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by helinues(op): 6:59am On Jun 04, 2024 |
Zooposki:Toh But I never proposed both N48k and N54k, that was FG and Private sectors proposal respectively. Go through my threads and see my own proposal. Make una no dey attack me for no sensible reason |
| Re: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by DMerciful(m): 7:00am On Jun 04, 2024 |
Are you saying govt refused to finalized minimum wage discussion because of Abia State? Is Edo State not paying 70k? helinues: |
| Re: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by helinues(op): 7:04am On Jun 04, 2024 |
DMerciful:No, FG can pay N100k as minimum wage , na to print more money now. The point is, if some states in Nigeria are still paying N18k as minimum wage, do you have an idea how many years the N30k was approved? How then do you expect states that can't pay N30k, even some that are paying are either owning or delaying to pay anything above N100k as minimum wage. Meanwhile, minimum wage is not only applicable to government sectors, even private sectors as well. Labour haven't been reasonable with their proposal for the onset |
| Re: Labour Shutting Down The National Grid Was A Mistake by Psady(m): 7:09am On Jun 04, 2024 |
Helineus back down! Most APC supporters are in agreement with the labour union activities on increment of the minimum wage, shutting down the power grid was a way of getting full attention of the government,& and pay hike suggested by Nlc is negotiable both parties are fully aware of the game plan , stop being one sided or partial when the truth is staring at you. |

Govt cannot wait for all state before moving to a new minimum wage once the old one expires. Stop giving excuses helinues: |
