The blackmailing, the pressure, the threat is much on labour part. They are human like us.

Just look at Muric always alive to use religion sentiment to blackmail the strike.

Labour leaders are well okay it is the masses that will suffer it.

The engine of every economy is SMEs and that's the worst hit in all of these... EVERY of your gods decision has been on decimating the SMEs...and he's being eulogized by you lots...

NLC should focus on the factors that are making their salaries valueless. They should know that less than 1% of Nigerians are under the government payroll. They should understand that government can agree to pay them 500k and peg the prices of PMS and diesel at 10k per liter. I don't know when we will start having people that can think in leadership positions. If government pays you N10, they will find a way to collect N100 from you. What happened after 30k minimum wage with Buhari should have been a big lesson to these confused labor leaders. Nonsense!

Ok what you are saying is not let them continue paying 30k as minimum wage right
Re: Minimum Wage: We’re Not Fixated On A Figure — NLC by stepaside1: 2:19pm On Jun 04, 2024
Why does Labour keep refering to 6 people (a father, mother and 4 kids) as basis for calculating minimum wage? Someone earning minimum wage is on Grade Level 1 i.e. the least grade. Even a school certificate holder will start on Grade Level 3 or 4. Why then will such person on Grade Level 1 want to feed 5 other people? It doesn't make sense.

In other places, those earning minimum wage are usually casual, part time workers or students on holiday or who want to just augment their income and are mainly still staying with their parents.

If you want to earn enough to feed yourself and other dependants, then upskill and seek jobs at higher paying levels.

Give me one reason why people will not save their money in dollars?

Someone who had 1billion naira in his or her account before tinubu government has lost so much of that value?

Paying is not the problem. They just refuse to.
The governors deliberately make sure workers are not paid their dues

There is no state that cannot pay the amount. It's simply not prioritised by the Governors, who prfer tolaunder money and waste resources than look ut for the welfare of the people they govern

You mean Sowore.

Obi is part of the status quo and Atiku's running mate a few years ago.

When Obi said, youths take back your country, the youths remained docile like mannequins.

Future generations will definitely insult us for doing nothing when less than 0.05% of the population held the country to ransom and wrecked it

Many don't get it. They hear minimum wage and assume they are part of it.

When NLC folks are ready to lead the fight for struggling Nigerians they will let us know. This current agitation is for a very tiny minority.

The write up said in 1981, the minimum wage was 125 naira equivalent to $188. Oh mine! Life was so pleasant in that time for Nigerians. They could have never thought of days like the present one we are in today. It's a pity.
Equivalent of $188 to naira today is 280000 plus. If they can agree on 150k. It would be better. But those pot bellies leaders wouldn't. Any amount bellow 100k is unreasonable at the moment.

I still do not get why they government of Nigeria have to always wait for an industrial action to increase wages in Nigeria. As a nigerian you were better off living in 1977 than living in 2024 vecause even though you were earning not so much, the dollar value of your salary then was 195$, now its a measly 23$. God forbid true true!

They push hunger and hardship to the land so it'll be hard for people to come together to fight.

That is why you see only NLC and TUC heads doing it all. They are well to do already and have some kind of command of authority.

The government knows too well. That's why they use hunger on us. Once it is hard for them to eat, they can't unite to say they have to fight for anything.

We are not running a proper democracy. The voice of the people is much louder than the government in a proper democracy. Not a particular group of people.
