Elubo. Elubo is around 1800 per paint whoesale price at my base

If not that Nigerians are not research minded, 200,000 Naira invested into cassava farming can provide a family of 5-8 with Garri, fufu and the likes for at least 4-7 months of daily consumption
Cassave takes average 18 months to maturity
Wetin dem go dey eat before cassava mature ?

But I get your point.

Most Nigerians are not research minded and are actually lazy both in thoughts and actions

Most Nigerians should better get it that tough times will always be with us , its always been there just that we forget about it the moment we get a little comfort but they are always there, and most times are caused by factors beyond our control like the Ukraine war or the Israeli Palestinian conflict..... Do you know the world is yet to recover after the disruptions caused by COVID 19?

So the smart ones instead of bitching around look for opportunities to explore and adopt coping mechanisms

Have we forgotten the saying that when the time gets tough the tough gets going.
The situation is made worst by the fact that opportunities are limited for the vast majority of Nigerians

Not everyone can do subsistence agriculture, not everyone owns a farmland or little garden.

Then not everyone will die
Everyone has land in the village
Everyone can do subsistence agric via cooperative or partnership or telephone farming

Are you going to start subsistence farming as a tenant.
Truth be told, Nigeria is messed up, I saw it coming a long time ago and a lot of people warned about it.
I wonder what Fela would say if he was alive
who cares what he will say
Will it change anything
We've chosen to make excuses for our indolence

Tinubu, on the other hand, is from my tribe.
You teenagers on nairaland, Seun need to do something about this. Your comments are very childish. You should concentrate to make up your WAEC and NECO deficiency instead of spending a lot of your time on nairaland.

Millions of people are living in the cities. Even some of those who are living in the semi rural areas don't have access to farmlands
I grew up in Lagos. We did not have farmland so we made do with the small land we had.

I live in a city now and don't have any land at all. And if I tell you what I sometimes plant in my tiny kitchen cupboard police will come and arrest me.

Happy teen birthday to me then, I guess, though I probably did WAEC before you were born and long before NECO was invented.

5 Reasons While Tinubu Will NEVER Be President. Lol!

I perfectly align with you on this.
We have collectively chosen to make escuse for our indolence.
Everyone is a culprit. Both those that chose to speak without acting and those that didn't speak up
Nobody should blame anyone or any party or any tribe , we are all collectively guilty of allowing the country degenerate to this level because of our tribal and religious affiliations.

But the way forward is tough and rough, are Nigerians ready to go through this willingly or unwillingly ? Only time will tell

The OP is Ibo and lives in Aba based on his past posts I have read. It's pretty obvious that these high prices are subjectively fixed based on the greed glands of wholesalers and retailers in the major urban areas.

However, areas outside the major urban areas have cheaper prices of commodities and other items. The governments at all levels have to find ways of regulating these arbitrary prices and set up whistleblower phone lines to report any person that sells above standard retail prices while working in conjunction with market unions in each state of Nigeria.
what is standard retail price

so you stupidly want to steal farmers and middlemenl sweat
Why don't you go and break your back on the farm or go and do middleman work then come and sell at generous price as you're father Christmas

If you're in Abuja, I can make/produce and send to you a very nice swallow ( an alternative to garri), you would even prefer it to garri sef. It consists of cassava flakes, maize and few other things. It'll be properly processed and turned into a nice swallow you would love.

If you're interested, give me a PM.
Give number so we can reach you

Has to be a mass movement to be successful. 3 million people hitting the streets at the same time makes it difficult for the govt to handle using the military

Have you tried sawdust? It's free from the sawmill or 50 Naira per garawa depending on the wood quality.

Alternatively, grow your own cassava and make your own gari.

Yeah, Tinubu should open borders so the hard working farmers in other countries can flood the market with the produce of their hard work so we can eat what we have not sown. We after all owe it to those countries across the border to create employment for them so we don't die of hunger.

It's not as if unemployment has killed anyone yet, and who cares about sweating!
Are farmers in your country going to farms anymore because of insecurity?
Some of you play ostrich with truth.
Insecurity is part of the reasons why prices of foodstuffs are soaring. People can't go to farms for fear of being killed by herdsmen and bandits.
The govt have failed to secure lives or tackle Banditry. There will continue to be food shortages.
The immediate solution is the import foods so there is no food crisis.
Wake up and smell the coffee and stop arguing what you don't understand.

Farmers in my community are going to farms.

We have so many lazy fuqs who want to reap without sowing, so we formed vigilante to catch the modafuqers, and after we caught a few and shariad them, the rest of the lazy fuqs left town or became farm labour.
