Bonding takes time. If you approach an animal that has never met you before, they may treat you as a potential enemy. They won't be bonded to you, and that is why they may attack you.

just because a lion (in a private zoo) respects the human that fed them everyday since they were cubs, doesnt mean that this human is the leader of their pride... thats just the owner of the animals and lions are accustomed to that person after so many years. these lions are so used to humans, even strangers can enter their enclosure safely.

now let them try to do the same with WILD lions, and see how they will end up as lion snacks

With the way she's putting her hand in the lion's mouth, she's distracting the lion's from the lady.... strangers don't stand close to a lion like that without distraction

captive lions like the above are just as dangerous as a sheep... the above are no more LIONS per se, these are now technically sheep!
and then, one day, that lion will hopefully look at himself in the mirror and realize that they have been acting as sheep all their lives while being LIONS, and thereafter kill their handler.

even some of the most successful/famous exotic animal handlers on earth have had a brush with death dealing with wild lions/tigers... ask the famous Siegfried & Roy and/or Joe exotic. these are wild animals that you can never tame... so as much as they are now acting like sheep, someday that wild beast is gonna emerge.

There's no such thing as a domesticated wild cat.
By default, a lion's wildness is embedded deep in their DNA.

It will take thousands of years for humans to domesticate a lion the way we domesticated dogs from wolves.

Lions like these may accept and tolerate you because they know you from childhood and you feed them.

But the day that lion resets to its ancestors settings is the day you also will meet your ancestors.

thats what that Siegfried & Roy dude also thought, until the animal almost killed him trying to protect his handler... if you have ever played with a cat, you will understand that these animals dont really understand how dangerous their claws are (let alone the claws of a tiger/lion), and will hurt you just by playing.

also, just like humans, sometimes, these animals dont want to be bothered, are in a bad mood or are injured, and that would make them not want to be messed with (as before). these pet animals are unpredictable as seen below:

captive lions don't attack humans like that unless they are provoked.

But I agree with you, it's a big risk, the recent incident that happened in OAU zoo where a male lion mauled his caretaker to death is an example

when you see a lion/tiger cub, you understand why so many normal people wanna have one... BECAUSE THEY ARE VERY CUTE AS CUBS, but these people forget that these cute cubs grow into UNPREDICTABLE EXOTIC BEAST that can finish your life with one bite.

i believe animals are animals, these wild lion/tiger are no better than a crazed pitbull etc and some also go loco too...
you just reminded me of the woman in the UK who was just mauled by her own pet dogs... one of her XL Bully dog just attacked her for no damn reason and then her pitbull just join the 1st dog in the attack and they both mauled that woman to death (now thats a horrific way to die)... they had to shoot the dog 4 times to kill it.
