See how the yoruba man cunningly extracted some igbo communities in imo to add to another region he didn't even consider adding igbo speaking communities in the south south to the south east but added yoruba and sub yoruba communities in the south south and north central to the south west region in his first proposal. This is exactly what they have been wishing in their posts in this forum.

This is the only thing they know, when I saw the in vanguardngr.com, I lost interest in the whole thing. Their only interest is to remove egbema from imo and put in another region. This people are beyond weak. Very smart people have already seen the Achilles hills behind the whole thing
They are the problem of Nigeria, they believe so much in Government providing for them, i wish some of you have lived with them, very lazy fuuls, that's why they complain about the hardship most

Yoruba man and sense.

You proposed that Yoruba speaking part of Kwara and Kogi, and even some part of Delta and Edo state be merged with south west to form Western region.

But in the case of south east, you didn't propose that the Igbo speaking part of Rivers, Delta, Benue, Kogi, Cross River, etc be merged together to form South Eastern region, rather to show your true colour of hatred, you are proposing that the Ohaji/Egbema region, one of the oil producing LGAs in southern imo state be removed from South East to form part of Southern/Niger Delta region. Is it not shameless daylight witchcraft?
Lol, you dey mind them?

Can u imagine the level of hatred these evil people have for igbos? They really don't wish the igbo nation well the first proposal is dead on arrival it will only cause more crises to the one already on ground.

says who? Both the off shore and onshore revenues belong to the Niger Delta. You can argue that if you want. Every region must control its resources. Anything short of that is not regionalism
You can't take possession of off shore oil that is situated along river Niger coast. All land along these axis belong to the federal government and not individuals or states.

Let stop all this our oil mentality if we truly want this regionalism to work.

As a governor Tinubu gave more power to the Local Government and even created more (LCDA) because he believed that is the way governance can easily get to the people although this caused a big fight between him and Obasanjo then.

With Tinubu's antecedents, I won't be surprised if he swiftly assent to the bill that will return Nigeria to regional Government but that's going to offend the Northerners a lot.
But at this level, the Northerners should support to try a new thing. They have ruled the country since yakubu Gowan days and no difference we keep getting worse. So why not try a different thing to get different results. Even the insecurity will be settled.

the proponent of the bill is simply an anarchist. Using a bill to exhibit petty covetousness. Imagine forcefully carving some people and giving some chance to go whear they want, while using language as a criteria for southwest. If I were a Yoruba, I would have started condemning this. This bill will widely promote mistrust and suspicion against Yorubas from other Nigerians. He even put Itshekiri in the southwest. The same warri where the three warring ethnic groups have scattered settlement.

I'm sure down along the writeup, he made mention of optional and what deems fit for people in those areas, where they would want to belong to.
Nevertheless, it's only a proposal a d nothing more. The ibo speaking people in some(all) of the Southern States will not want to join the core Eastern States, so let's not fret about it.

Anyways it's a good start but to be able to achieve that a confab will have to be formed. But we don't need such now.
It would be easier and better if all the States be completely and fully autonomous with them having full control of their resources or 90% control of their resources. There should be creation of more LGA and RCDA depending on each State's peculiarity.
Whatever pattern we take there should be utmost decentralization of power. States who share the same ideologies though tribe and tongues may differ can come together to grow their economy by putting their collective resources together and sharing of resultant IGR.
You are a big full .. grin the Igbos will not want to join but for the Yorubas in Kwara you are 100% sure they will want to join south west. Stupid people grin

If YOU had read the article with an open mind, and without emotions, you would have seen where it was stated that it's just a DRAFT subject to "additions and subtractions." It's NOT a final document. The whole thing might even be rejected!

Even the man's CLEAR reference in the draft to the Itsekiris and the Yoruba-speaking parts of Edo would be subject to their choice [NOT an imposition]. So, it is left for other ethnicities to unanimously make their own representations to be grouped together based on their own choices just like the man who did the draft said the Itsekiris would do. During the GEJ 2014 National Conference, the Itsekiris and Yoruba-speaking areas of Kwara and Kogi States decided they wanted to be with their kith and kin in the West of Nigeria. The Ijebu-Yorubas and Ilaje-Yorubas of Ogun State and Ondo State are directly related to many Itsekiri communities because it was from those Ijebu and Ilaje communities that many Itsekiris of today ancestrally descended from over 600 years ago. The language dialect that Itsekiris of Delta State speak is understandable to many Ijebus, Ilajes, and Ikale subgroups of the larger Yoruba people historically. The oil and gas-rich Ilajeland in Ondo State and the oil and gas-rich Itsekiriland share direct boundaries as cousins. Every year when the Yoruba intelligentsia and all Obas have their usual big meetings of Yoruba descendants, the past Olus of Warri usually send some of their High Chiefs such as High Chief Ayomike and others to attend and this also includes the attendance by Oba's of Yoruba towns and cities such as Porto Novo (Ajase), Ketu kingdom, etc, in Benin Republic and Togo Republic.

After reading a couple of pages on this thread, I noticed that some Ibos were also quoting you and blindly following your incorrect assumptions here and then started passing highly irresponsible insults at the man who made the supposed draft and Yoruba folks in general which to me amounts to emotional weakness... Is English comprehension such a difficult thing for some of you people of Eastern Nigeria Ibo descent?

Why Igbo always believe they are hunted by Yorubas beat my imagination.
To be candid, there is no tribe full of hatred for other tribes like the Igbo. It is an inheritance from their forefathers.
For example, i am Yoruba and I canvassed for OBI during election and I know several Yoruba people who were obidients. Most especially the learned.
I was amidst some Yoruba professors in the University of Ibadan before election all were rooting for Obi. Lots of Yoruba students were open with their choice of Obi.

My point is hardly would you see an Igbo in support of a Yoruba or Hausa presidential candidate. Its not because they know he wont perform well but because of hatred. It is in the blood.

You can see the hatred for LOLA Peter of PSquare's wife. If not that Peter was a real Man who called their bluff, he would have divorced his wife.

What about Chioma of Davido ?
They are in support not because Davido is a wonderful husband.
EGO is the reason why all of them keep their hatred invested mouths shut. Love Of Money which is their generational sickness.

Abegi my brother. You shouldn't have wasted your time schooling them. They'll always play the victim card.
It is in their DNA

The guy nor try for this part. All Yoruba-like people to be home in SW but does not apply to other tribes to have their kilt and kin together in one region. This could scupper the whole thing. This is a golden opportunity to the fair to Igbo people and all who feel marginalised.

SW will gain at least another 2 to 4 million extra population. Others will lose a million or more as they currently are. Not smart.

Leave the regions as they currently are.
