Abia North Leaders Laud Orji Kalu For Facilitating Isikwuato, Bende Road Projects

Leaders of Abia North Senatorial District have lauded Senator Orji Uzor Kalu for facilitating the construction of some important roads in the senatorial district.

According to the leaders, the facilitation of the construction of Isikwuato-Uturu-Akara road in Isikwuato local government area, and that of Itumbuzo in Bende local government area should be commended by all irrespective of their political affiliation.

The leaders under the aegis of Abia North Peace Foundation said: “As Chief Whip of the 9th Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu had during the supplementary budget of President Muhammadu Buhari facilitated the Isikwuato-Uturu-Akara road in Isikwuato LGA, and the road from Itumbuzo in Bende LGA to Ini LGA of Akwa Ibom State. It was a compensation to Abia North Senatorial District from President Muhammadu Buhari.

“As leaders of Abia North Senatorial District, we appreciate the efforts of Senator Orji Uzor Kalu to the development of Abia North Senatorial District, Abia State and Nigeria at large. We appreciate him for facilitating other projects like the reconstruction and furnishing of over 100 schools across district, construction and reconstruction of over 66 rural roads, provision of solar street lights, patrol vehicles for security operatives, boreholes, scholarships and numerous women and youth developmental programs,” Chief Nnanna Ukaegbu, coordinator of the leaders said on Saturday.

The leaders also congratulated the lawmaker on his one year anniversary in the 10th Senate, noting that the former Abia state governor has demonstrated capacity and leadership dexterity in the 10th senate judging by his bills and the number of projects he attracted in the 2024 budget.

Our correspondent reports that of all the former governors in the Senate, Senator Orji Kalu (APC-Abia North), has five bills to his name: the Coastal and Inland Shipping (Cabotage) Act (Amendment) Bill, 2023; the Armed Forces Act (Amendment) Bill, 2024; the Compulsory Free Universal Basic Education Act (Amendment) Bill, 2024; the Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill, 2024 and the National Environmental Standards and Regulations Agency Act (Amendment) Bill, 2024.

He has been attracting roads and other projects to Abia North years before Alex Otti was elected governor.

There is no wrong time to do the right thing.OUK is doing well in Abia North the reason he was re-elected.

This same road has bn under construction for more than 15yre withouth doing even one km out of up to it 50 km length.
Too many greedy leaders in abia state is the major problem of the state.

One thing all abia state leaders knows best to do is to raise numerous praise singers that praise them daily even the state radio house is not spared as their dg is always been questioned any day the praise singing is not so loud.
It's a pity what abia citizens have gone through.
