2elliot:If farming is not lucrative, food would be very cheap and we won't even be having this conversation in the first place. The reason Why most people are shunning farming even in the rural places is because it is not profitable. You can not buy your dream car, or build your dream house just by farming in a subsistence way, which most Nigerians do.This is actually funny because, how many people are building their own houses and buying their dream cars from their salaries? You don't make enough profit. Your entire produce in a year can be bought with someone's four months salary who is earning just 60k as a whitecolor job earner. The farmers in the village have seen how easy those working In the town and elsewhere in the oil industry, tech, entertainment e.t.c., make money and live quite okay. They also want that soft life.If you spend 100k on farming, someone earning 60k monthly can't buy your produce with his or her annual salary. That's a fact. Since I started farming in 2017, I've never spend above 200k on two hectares of land. Since then, I don't even know the price of Garri or yam again. I'll be adding beans this year. After taking what I need for myself, the proceeds from selling the rest can buy everything else I need for the year. I'm not factoring what it's been stolen, because I've not been on the farm since 2019. I'm very surprised you're saying farming is not profitable. As far as I know, it's the only risk free venture that guarantees profit, safe for bad yields and pests. No nation can farm their way into prosperity through subsistence farming with crude tools as Nigerians do.No one is saying we should farm our way to prosperity, but at least, we must be able to self sufficient in terms of agriculture. The problem we're having now is because we can not feed ourselves. We all want the prices of food to be reasonably OK, but want to assume that someone somewhere is doing all the farmings for us to and buy it cheap. We can't keep blaming the government for food scarcity. Government don't sell foodstuffs, it's people that grow it |

ResidentSnitch:Ur fada is not more intelligent than me tho. If u classify someone who doesn't agree with u as dvmb, it means u inherited dvmbñess. |

Mbanda:Jagaban Borgu, it's a title that existed before Bola Tinubu. Do we import fertilizers? That's what my question is about. Very soon you will say import duties on yam and cassava. |

JagabanB:This is beyond agreeing with me or not. You have a reputation here as someone who lacks basic common sense and flaunts dum*bness proudly. |

JagabanB:The question should be do we import potassium and potash? |
| Re: Solution To Your Food Problem by JagabanB: 7:07pm On Jun 24, 2024 |
Mbanda:You have removed urea now? If I go ahead to tell you that fertilizer plants produce and use their own potash or source it locally, you will still bend your argument. |
| Re: Solution To Your Food Problem by JagabanB: 7:09pm On Jun 24, 2024 |
ResidentSnitch:I am more intelligent and advanced than ur fada, that's what u should understand. Intelligent people don't hàtè on someone because they don't agree with their ideas or perceptions. If u lack this basic attribute of intelligence, don't classify yourself as intelligent. |
| Re: Solution To Your Food Problem by Mbanda(m): 11:16pm On Jun 24, 2024 |
JagabanB:What is your proof? How do they produce or source the two locally? Remember I said potash and potassium. I didn't mention only only potash. |

Mbanda:From the look of things, you are someone who lacks experience, someone hasn't been to industrial settings to see things for yourself so it's easy to blab online. Nigeria imports hydrogen, but companies who use hydrogen for production have their hydrogen plant where they produce hydrogen. Same with many fertilizer plants but people like you who don't know anything other than PitObi and lamba will come online to nag like you are exposed, it won't kill you to go to different fertilizer companies to make findings. |

JagabanB:In your feeble mind, you think you are making sense but in reality you're just blabbing, all because you want to defend tinubu and the high cost of import duty I mentioned earlier. What has the question I asked you got to do with Peter Obi and the rubbish you wrote? Since you know that Nigeria imports hydrogen, what is the essence of your baseless argument All these while? |

Mbanda:I didn't read your trash tho, if you see comments on social media to be about politics, I understand why you are so shallow in life. |

JagabanB:Mr shallow is pointing accusing fingers on his teacher ![]() You think you are intelligent but you are defending rubbish. Mumu! |
