I plan to drive to Ilorin for a project soon.
It will be my first time of driving along that route.

For those who frequent that route in recent times, please What is the current state of the road and what is the best route to follow?

Any additional tips for me?

The last time I went from oyo to llorin was about 2 years ago.
But then there was serious constructions going on along the route. I guess the road should be done by now.
As from Ibadan to Oyo, that na one way.

It's a 2 hours journey + or -, Oyo Ogbomosho road is difficult to navigate because of long trucks on that road, if you know your way round the new ongoing constructed express way its better.

Ibadan - oyo town = fair
Oyo - ogbomosho = new expressway part = sweet but watch out for pedestrian and rickety vehicles/okada making U turns in the middle of the road. The old road that you must link up at a point is full of bends and big trucks.
Ogbomosho - ilorin = I prefer the old road during odd hours for security reasons as there are numerous villages on the road compared to the new road. Even some transporters go through the old road at odd hours
