EcoNews:Don't be quick to insult people that are smarter and more knowledgeable than you all because you want to defend your looting and incompetent masters. Which agric investment do you know of that ended up a fraud since 1999 like the ABP? I hope you'll be quick to answer as you're quick to insult |

budaatum:It is still unseriousness on the part of everybody -farmers, government, e.t.c. There should be a mechanism for recouping such loans and making sure such loans are put to it's right use. Except there is a collusion somewhere. Nigerians own the land? Maybe not. |

Omoluabi16:Nigerians do own the land. And indeed it is unseriousness on all our part, including the consumer who wants to pay below the price of production. I mean, how can I plant crops and expect to make profit when the purchaser is crying on my shoulder that minimum wage is 30k? Did I send them? Does fertiliser seller care about minimum wage? Does the person I rent land from care about minimum wage? Does the school I pay my children's fees care about minimum wage? And then when I don't sell to them they will go in my farm and steal it and be telling me its Fulani! So of course I will not plant anymore, let us all starve. Nigeria's problems are huge, and we have not even begun to understand it not to talk of start finding solutions. But after half of us die off, I am certain those who are left will decide to reset our brains. |

DavidEsq:Did you see my response to the intelligent Omoluabi16? You'll get a similar one when you deserve it. Omo, I'm certain you've seen how loan apps collect unpaid debt. Pity we wouldn't like our government to be so ruthless. |

Why is it yorubaland that always gives allowance to Chinese to do all sorts of things freely. It always comes from yorubaland, they give this Chinese too much freedom. They shouldn't start shouting in the future that Chinese are taking over their lands. |

The Chinese will harvest the cassava, load them inside containers and ship to their country. There they will turn it into garri, package it, and export back to Nigeria to sit on shelves in highbrow supermarkets at exorbitant price. And you see Nigerians going to buy them to show status symbol and flair for everything foreign. |

mrvitalis:So how come we have lesser food output if this is true? I would have agreed with you if you said we have too many people doing too little. That's because the majority of farmers are poor people. The people who have the money are investing in less productive ventures. Netherland made €50 billion on agricultural export last year alone. I bet we'll doing fine if agriculture is the only thing we're doing and make up to that. The fact is, most of us don't like agriculture. Food used to be the least of our problems, it's unfortunate how things have turned out to be. |
| Re: Chinese Are Planting Cassava In Ogere Remo While Nigerians Scream Hunger. by mrvitalis(m): 11:48am On Jun 30, 2024 |
DeOTR:100,000 farmers is enough to farm all the food we need in Nigeria The issue with farming starts from land ownership... Most land owners are too poor to farm their land... And most people with money have little or no land... Sadly there is not linkage between the two Travel most places in Nigeria u see bush uncultivated bush not protected forest ooh but just bush... That is the key |

mrvitalis:Waiting for the govt to fund a businessman is the first sign of failure. People should think properly, the successful businessmen around were not funded by the govt. These Chinese were also not.funded by their own govt, they took a risk to invest in Nigeria |
