Thank you. I need information on the center where you wrote the exam and any contact person , amount paid, the nature of comprehension oral and comprehension écrit if they repeat questions and the sites you used if two or more people and join hand to subscribe

Thank you in anticipation
I can’t answer question 1-3 about my location because I don’t want to dox myself and if you read my previous submission, I stated that yes they repeated questions for CO and CE but I would advise you to not bank on that 100% because they could change the questions but yes the site formation(dot)TCF helped. And no, it’s forbidden for multiple people to use one paid account, they stated it on their site.

You can start here. More specifically, this is one example of an institution which offers the free program. I should point out that for most of these services you have to be a permanent resident, not a citizen.
Hello. Do you know if they offer classes for C1 learners? I intend taking the Diplôme de français professionnel (DFP) to give me more credibility when I apply for bilingual jobs.

Unfortunately question 1-3 are more important to me

Think beyond in person tutors.

Preply has thousands of french tutors at different price points ($6/hr to $30/hr).
Do they teach based on TCF/TEF exam standards?
Re: All TEF Candidates For Canada Immigration, Let's Meet Here! by canadamustgo24:
Please house who has a contact in Cotonou?

Also if you need a speaking partner, TCF formation subscription partner. I am here

Thank you

Okay lovely people! The results are out and in exactly one week smiley. As promised, breakdown below:
CO: 448 - B2
CE: 496 - B2
EO: 11 - B2
EE: 10 - B2

If you’re familiar with the requirements, you’d already know I have to rewrite as I needed 10 extra points in CO only, for this result to suffice. All this to say, please practice the past questions to stupor lol. It’s annoying because it’s just one section making me spend this money again and worst, the earliest date is June 3rd. But c’est pas grave, people have had it worse and they didn’t relent so we go again. Thanks for all your support and encouragement. Btw, would try responding again to the moniker who asked for the questions, if this site doesn’t ban me
Pls I sent you an email. Kindly check, thank you

They offer classes for all levels, as long as you aren't a citizen, but a permanent resident.

godstino:
Thanks a lot. I started in July last year when someone enlightened me on the impact of french on CRS score and gave me his echo A1 book. But the book was so boring to me until I stumbled upon a post by @Cooooooks about vite et bien and it was a game changer. I employed a private tutor that same month and she was like the perfect icing on the cake. I did a month subscription with ‘learn french with Alexa’ too while I was also listening to the Michel Thomas series at any spare time both at work and at home. Immediately I finished the vite et bien B1 book, I focused my attention on ‘the communication progessive du français ‘ by the same author of vite et bien and also started streamlining my practice towards the TCF exams bécause I discovered I had learnt enough vocabs. My tutor was a major booster and I couldn’t have pulled through without her efforts.

So in summary, I used

Books:
Vite et bien (A1 to B1)
Communication progressive du français
Essential French grammar
The Ultimate French (couldn’t finish reading this)
Vocabulary in dialogue series (Couldn’t finish this)

Audio:
Michel Thomas series
Frenchpod101 (didnt finish all)
Coffee break (didnt finish all)
RFI
TV5monde

YouTube videos
-french extra series (very funny)
-french in action series (didn’t finish this)
-french avec pierre
Some other French channels

Subscription
Learn french with Alexa
Réussirtcf canada
TCF prepmyfuture (I didnt use this one at all. I later gave out the login details cos I didn’t like it)

GROUPS
-Several Telegram French groups especially for speaking
-Several whatsapp groups too

APPS
HelloTalk ( Didnt use this more than once cos I could easily speak french with my tutor everyday)

MOVIES
The African Doctor
Lupin (this is a series)
Some others.

Private Tutor: For the entire learning period. Also, my Tutor was very determined to ensure I succeeded. We became very close. I got to know her through a website called Superprof which someone recommended for me because I needed a physical tutor and not an online one.

Also, I already knew I was writing TCF , so no need studying TEF materials but I participated in their speaking sessions in various platforms.

Overall, the best way to learn the language is to love the language first and then immerse yourself. I’d sometimes speak french to my colleagues and patients at work just for the fun of it LOL. The books and michel Thomas Series made me keep going back for more. Each time I felt like giving up, I’d come to this thread to read People’s testimonies and that would fire me on again. So this thread played a crucial role too. Since my colleagues knew I was studying french, they easily covered for me at work too. Not failing to acknowledge the help of God who is the orchestrator of all things.
Please how can I download these books?? Thank you

Check the link below, maybe you could find some useful French resources.

My own ban expired yesterday. Nairaland spam bot abeg allow us to write in french o...we're trying to learn the language. In my own case, the post was even in English undecided

Download TEF study materials here

They are mostly grammar and vocabulary books but I found the alter ego books especially helpful.
Most of the materials here are from DelPiero at canada visa

P.S. some materials are still uploading thanks to my superslow internet connection but hopefully before the end of the week..

Hello house! Pls who knows if I can take the TCF exam while I’m in Canada on a visitor’s visa in preparation for my express entry application.
Re: All TEF Candidates For Canada Immigration, Let's Meet Here! by NwunyeAlberta: 7:12pm On Jul 02, 2024
Of course you can. There's no requirement to take the exam in your country of origin. You can write it anywhere.

There was another French draw on 8 July 2024 with CRS cut-off score of 420. French category is still an option for people who are over 30 years of age.

If you are at a basic B1 level, you can sign up for this course on Coursera, it's free:

Hello Lovely People ! An update I owe to this platform, following my previous post and your words of encouragement, j’ai repasse l’examen le 10 Juin et par la grace de Dieu, c’est termine!

CO 505 C1
CE 518 C1
EO 13 B2
EE 13 B2

I have said this story so many times, so I’d spare you the details. I’d close this with three points:

1. It’s definitely attainable! I heard about this French route a few years ago but I kept telling myself “nahh, the scores would go down, I shouldn’t have to go to this length or kill myself this much”. Last year confirmed this wouldn’t be the case with the trend of the draws, and I had to dive into action. All thanks to people who shared their timelines and stories honestly on this platform to encourage others. I saw it was possible for others juggling job, family, and many other things and figured I could do this also.

2. Find a community! This is super important. This journey is challenging especially for English speakers, starting from scratch (A0,A1 etc). It is not one of those things or hurdles you navigate privately ooo 😂, it is emotionally and mentally arduous. Thus, you need ALL the support you can get (from relatable stories/experiences, astuces, conseils, and exam stories). One of the communities you can leverage is the Telegram group (I discovered this only after my first attempt). Shoutout to those amazing human beings!!! Madam Labelle, ma belle (in her words), you all are too too much! God Bless You!

3. Leverage all resources possible but don’t overwhelm yourself with them. Get a tutor that can guide you and narrow your focus on the most important tools/resources. My tutor was instrumental in this entire journey (I posted previously about this). If you can, try to enjoy the process. If you can’t enjoy it for whatever reason…. just focus on the target and do your best. Ca va aller. Que Dieu nous aide
