I don't know about this. If the UK Muslim was as extreme as you seem to think, I do not think predominant white non-Muslim UK people in London would have elected a Muslim Mayor.

could be something as simple as fear, fear of the possibility of being ostracized by your community, or fear of attack etc.

The is where UK's Christian heritage comes into play. Instead of an eye for an eye, we turn the other cheek because we know the power in the words of Jesus that we worshipped for almost like 2000 years, and are not all of a sudden going to throw the baby out with the bath water just because we are now secular.

Besides, we have laws, and we are not at all tolerant of those who break them regardless of your race or colour or religion or whatever. Basically, so long as you don't do it in the streets and scare the horses, we accept you.

Perhaps give examples of values and cultures that are not equal or worth learning from so I know what you are talking about. But please note that your "from" is an issue here.

I think it is very worth learning about cultures that even takes twins to the bottom of the river and bashes their heads in. Not so I can emulate (from) what they do, but so I can better understand such cultures that do that and perhaps in my arrogance, educate them about my culture so they read my God book and converse on Nairaland in my language which is what I will use to promote and inculcate my culture and my values in to them.

Just the mere fact that you and I have discussed in the past and exchanged our opinions and views on cultures and values is directing our conversation here. And I bet our understanding of each others values and culture is what is contributing to and a factor that is enabling us to converse with our brains instead of with ignorance and emotions as some are doing.

Neither of us have necessarily adopted the others' culture or values in a "from" sort of way, but we at least have learnt to respect each others culture and values I think, at least from what I see so far.

Neither do we here in Blighty respect anyone that deprives anyone of "freedom, fair & equal treatment". And that's because we want to be free and be treated equally regardless of our religion and race and values and culture, and so therefore treat others equally and fairly in return. We are after all a nation of Welsh and Scots and Irish and Brits and gays, all with different and diverse cultures and values that have learnt to coexist peacefully, so why should we think the addition of other cultures and values would diminish us when history shows us it grows us?

It is British culture and values that as we want others to do unto us, we first must do unto them so they may see and learn. We are so arrogant that we must first let our light so shine before others so they will see the perfection of the Father in us and bow. And we learnt that from our past ignorance when we thought we knew it all.
