Naturally one will be happy, should be happy. Nigerians are happy about it. I call it Local Government emancipation judgement because it has really emancipated the Local Governments from the shackles of the past and I hope the Local Government officials will seize the opportunity to develop their various Local Governments.

The ball is in the Court of the Governors, let us see what they will come out with but the judgement is clear as to what they should do. The judgement is clear as to what consequences will attach to failure or refusal to follow the judgement of the Supreme Court which takes immediate effect.

This is one of the best judgements given since democracy by the judiciary… LGA can now breath while the governor remove their monkey fingers from LGA allocations…
But all LGA chairmen must be held accountable for their funds released to them from FAAC and EFCC should me more proactive in handling issues concerning fraud…
There is still a lot to be done but this is a move in the right direction
Governors please let the LGA breath… the era of selection of chairmen is gradually fading away

A good way to start but what we want is Resource control..

And who monitors the local government chairmen to make sure they use the money judiciously and not embezzlements

Now the LGA elections will now be do or die affairs as they will be in charge as governors in charge of states. Many politicians will no longer care about governorship elections anymore

I miss the days local governments were active....Their elections hot pass governorship..And that is where youths in politics have ground to start.
Next is Inec should oversee the electoral process there as well.

Until judiciary spelled the constitution for our governors before they can do the needful
