In Vienna, I've observed a fascinating aspect of European culture: the serious approach to bicycles as a mode of transportation making cycling accessible and practical for its citizens. Maybe to encourages more people to choose bicycles over cars, contributing to a cleaner environment and a healthier lifestyle. I also noticed that in Paris and Netherlands

I recall when he said that he gave birth to his kid in the US. How many Americans come to Nigeria to birth their kids in Nigeria.
Focusmind is a Nigerian elite, so don't be surprised by his love for the West to have his children, but disdain to live there. They are only patriotic on paper.

The weather is a major contributor. In Singapore, the government tries the same, but citizens are not interested because it is in the tropics. While cycling in the city-state, Westerners who work in Singapore whine about the "scorching heat". Also, most cities in the EU are very small in size and there are alternative means of transport such as trams, buses and the metro. On the other hand, in Japan, cycling is a major form of transport, but not during the summer.

You are right transport systems in most European countries are far better

Vienna has a well-developed transportation system that includes easily accessible trains, trams, and buses. They provide an online transportation app for purchasing tickets. I bought a weekly transportation ticket that covers bus, train, and tram travel. All I need to do is use the bay code in the app for activation whenever I enter the public transport. They also have private taxis like Uber

In North Korea, almost everyone has a bicycle

Nawao! My people, I thought I made a genuine personal comment, but the responses and attacks were not necessary. Ordinarily, I would have allowed it to pass but thought it necessary to provide some clarifications. I have said it many times, if you have money, Nigeria could be sweet and enjoyable. There are certain things your money can do for you to compensate for the inadequacies of the Nigerian state. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have problems with living abroad. I lived in UK for three years and wasn’t just happy with the lifestyle and I preferred the lifestyle I had in Nigeria prior to coming to UK.

Nevertheless, it provided me a rare privilege to see the opportunities that abound in the West for hardworking people, and I was determined that my kids should have access to the opportunities that abound in the West. I remembered the challenges I faced, after getting to the final recruitment stage of Statoil hydro, Barclays bank, HSBC, Scottish and Southern Energy, JP Morgan and HM Revenue and Custom. One question always came up: "Do you have the permanent right to work in UK"? Once my answer was “no”, I won’t get any further correspondence from the HR.

I visit travel thread regularly to update myself with the required information as I am currently sponsoring two people in schools in Canada. I also guide my relatives and mentees on visa applications, admission processes, right courses to study and living life abroad as some of them have limited information on those things and they usually came to me for guidance. I have provided guidance to lots of people and former colleagues on PR processes and some have relocated successfully. Please, the decision to stay in Nigeria is personal and I don’t need any “mental evaluation” as alluded by ednut.

I don’t discourage anyone …. rather, I provide guidance where needed. That I made an honest comment regarding the calmness, tranquility and loneliness of Vienna doesn’t mean that I am in tune with chaotic and disorganized society. Finally, my patriotism is not in doubt o! not just on paper but in “deed and in truth”. Apologies to the OP

Atleast you can go and come anytime you like
You know what you'll have for breakfast, lunch and dinner
You can decide not to come back to this shithole

So you'll feel less pepper that this country is showing people like me. If i have the opportunity to leave this country I'll grab it without a second thought no matter the t&c
Currently typing this on empty stomach

Vienna is called a "horse city" because of its long history with horses. The sight of horse-drawn carriages adds to the city's beauty. You can see these carriages in the old streets, especially near famous places like St. Stephen's Cathedral and the Ringstraße. Many visitors enjoy the special experience of taking a ride in a horse carriage.
