You tried to argue that Vance is not committing to debates because he wants to somehow make 100% sure who the VP nominee is. As if that was some rational explanation.
Why does he need to wait? Does it matter who the nominee is for him to commit to a debate? Why would it matter unless it impacts his decision on whether to debate. Would he be busy doing something else on that date?

That argument is silly on its face. It even contradicts years of how is has worked. The dates are usually chosen by the debate commission the year before, then the nominees are chosen.

It was a clear attempt to begin seeding the idea Vance won't debate.

We don't know who the Democratic nominee for vice president is going to be, so we can't lock in a date before their convention, but we have reached out to the Biden team to lock in a debate date post convention when we are clear who the nominee for vice president will be..

Here is the original schedule the Debate Commission sets. The Debate Commission used to set the schedule for these debates. For this cycle, it was set in 11/2023, when there was no nominee on either side. Trump and Biden chose not to use them and debated even before they were nominated.
