You might be underestimating how popular some of these progressive positions are (like legalization of weed) with the overwhelming majority of Americans.

Americans are mostly economically right leaning (capitalists), but socially left leaning. Especially with the small government types.

A dictionary is not news. They could have quoted CNN, ABC, msnbc from the video i posted. and like basilico showed you, a government document to explain what a czar means.
