Reduce your budget as advised
Calculate your monthly expenses again using your account statement… if possible, reduce it, N600k is high.
Address the reasons of the previous refusal on a separate cover letter carefully with evidence.
Okay, thank you for observations.

The hotel reservation I used for the refused application was from Booking.com

Perhaps I may just need to search for cheaper ones.

Do you suggest I reduce the balance I have in the account?
no pls !

Jerry1997:
I didn't add my savings evidence. I only talked about it in the explanation letter. Can I add some other sources of income like sales of property in the new application?
yes pls . Give clarification let the Eco understand your account situation.

Cashmadam:
Sorry about the refusal.

1. Your living cost is high compared to your salary.

2. Your estimate for the trip is too high! Regardless of the exchange rate. Your estimate should not be more than N4M in my estimate

3. Paying for priority screamed desperate! You wasted money!

4. Your N12m account balance does not add much value as far as UK visa goes. Your account balance mucst make sense - it's not just about having a lot of money

5. I won't advise you to reapply this year. Build up your savings by cutting down your monthly expenses.

6. Next time, please ask for guidance and avoid wasting money in this economy.

Good luck!
Thank you for your recommendations.
You suggested I should not apply this year again. Does it mean if I reapply now, based on the fact that I already told them my leave is September, I would likely be denied again even if I clearly address the reason for this refusal?

They always advise that you reapply if your situation has changed.

Has your situation changed overnight?

Your budget for the trip can be reduced. Will your monthly expenses reduce overnight?

I don't have all the answers. Pray and follow your instincts.

While addressing the reasons for the previous refusal on a separate cover letter, will it make sense for me to attach the refusal letter? And am I going to book another appointment for biometrics? Cuz Canadian biometrics is valid for 10 years, I don't know of UK own. Thank you.

Yes, you can attach the refusal letter.

You will need to book another appointment for biometrics, you can choose Flexi(Walk in).

Sorry for the refusal, I suggest you calm down and don’t just rush to reapply….. you can make another innocent mistake unknowingly

Good afternoon Travelanders

I got a COS for skilled worker visa(maintenance ticked), and my start date is 29th July..My intended date of arrival ( 24th july) already passed and I am still yet to get a decision on my application.

I had one refusal last year which I appealed for successfully.

The only comma in my application was the IELTS TRF which I didn't submit and also didn't upload..I mistakenly stated that I had submit my IELTS result in a previous application, whereas I didn't..(My IELTS is valid and the grades are good for my profession.)

What could be the reason for the delay..a friend who applied with his wife got their decision within 72hrs

You mistakenly lied? Honestly why are we doing this?
You know you didn’t submit TRF or upload the result and neither had you submitted such english result it in the past, yet you said you did… unnecessary mind boggling lies.

Except you had submitted this document to your professional body before, I see no reason why employing lies in a straightforward application. Ano understand sha.
Standard application takes 15 working days. 15. Give them time to do their work and for them to perhaps ask you to upload the documentation.

You passed IELTS and also the visa application form is in very basic English… sooo….
Give them the initial 15 working days and pray they reach out to you for your English language requirement if not you will be refused as skilled worker visa is points based for which English test is mandatory.

Just picked up the passport from DHL office

Approved

I noticed the valid date is from 28/08

We didn't put that when I applied. The plan was to go next week before. Can I travel before the date or reach out to them?

Please advise

Thank you

As usual. This thread will never grow.
But if they wanted to deny it they would use the missing bank statement as grounds for refusal? No?
So why not also share the ‘peculiar’ info but instead come here to discredit advice ppl are giving? The situation that arose for your mother, why not share it if we are all been helpful? Why not help others?
I'm sorry if my comment came off as discrediting the thread and advise shared. That was not the intention. I didn't advise anyone to go same path cos as I had mentioned earlier what worked for A might be the main reason B will be refused. I know it could have easily gone the other way.

The bank she uses was liquidated about when we needed the bank statement, no access to the bank and she does not have online banking to get a statement from.

Hi all,
A quick one pls

If one wins money from Sports betting(say 7million naira) and wants to use it to visit the UK for tourism especially with the intention to watch live football matches and return to Nigeria..A trip of 1 week maximum.

Is it legal or appropriate to show this as proof of funds ?

The person works as a nurse in a private hospital for the past 8 years and earns about 150,000 NGN. Spends about 60,000NGN on monthly expenses as he resides in a free accomodation inside the hospital as well as is given 2 free meals a day.
He has a balance of about 600,000NGN in his salary account ,savings of about 6 months

He is single, has elder siblings and aged parents back home ..and will resume at his job as soon as he is back to the country.

Hello guys please I have this question about my Italian Visa application, am I supposed to receive any email from the Embassy or TLS after my submission and biometrics at tls contact? Thanks
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by Favourkasie:
Hi.
Please I came across this page after I applied for my mum's visit visa.
I got a refusal mail yesterday 28/7/24.
While going through the trend I noticed I made some mistakes especially on the question "how much are you personally willing to spend on your trip" I put in 3000£ because I thought the question was about how much the trip would cost.
I explained in my invitation letter that I was the one sponsoring her fully.

The ECO also made a mistake because I said her annual income is 480000 but he quoted it as a monthly income.

Thirdly concerning her income and expenditure, I kind of reduced it a bit . At least monthly I pay her 50k just to build the account but some months I pay her more.
The amount the ECO quoted that was transferred to her account was for her to pay for her tp to the tls center.

I didn't write any cover letter for the initial application because I didn't know better.

Please can I adjust the income and expenditure part without attracting a ban based on falsification. I plan on reapplying in early sept 2024.

Please help me.
