I once experienced the infestation after returning from a 5 star hotel. After learning about how they multiply, when they feed and how hard they are to kill, i knew i was in for a long fight. I decided to:
1. Wash my clothes with hot water (heat kills them)
2. Wake up suddenly at night, very quickly turn on a flash light and look around my bedspread. I'll often find one or 2 making their way to the corner to hide. They seem to know when you want tp wake up.
So I'll kill them gradually 2 to 5 per night.
3. Be patient
4. Be forgiving to myself for the unfortunate hotel trip
5. Monitor the numbers. I discovered the numbers were reducing, but i still uncovered several hideouts in the corner of my bed furniture, mattress seams, including eggs.

In the end, after a few weeks, they were defeated!

Whether you believe this or not, is up to you. But this is the solution that worked for me.

I had bedbug infestation, and I mean a very severe one. I tried everything possible, but they kept coming back. One day I went online and came across a post on NL with somebody having same issue, and decided to check the comments. One of the comments I saw (which sounded funny at the time) was "GET ONE OF THEM ALIVE, TIE IT IN A NYLON AND DROP IN A BUSY MARKET".

I saw this laughed and continued scrolling, until someone said something similar. I decided to try it.

Like I said at the beginning, whether you believe this or not is up to you, but I did exactly that and never saw Bedbugs in my home again.

I am still stunned till this day.

Whether you believe it or not, is up to you.
Haha! shocked shocked shocked

How do you vet who you let in ?😁

Sometimes even those big people or people we assume that are clean carry them around because bedbugs are tiny demons.

They're in Saloons , offices e.t.c places where people meet.

We hope the universe keeps us away from people and places with bedbugs.

We just hope the universe keep keeping us away from people with them.

How does it look like also do you have a picture
It is in powdery form, purple in colour and in paper satchet, unfortunately I dont have a picture of it.but you can get it from those that sell farm herbicides and implements...very very effective.

Sometimes I wonder why God created those insects, like mosquitoes, cockroach, house flies, bed bugs and others. They don't have any benefit to mankind other than to cause sicknesses.
😂 They have their usefulness, they have their roles in the ecosystem.

Shark is designed to eat fish, not man. Besides, you may swin out unscathed if you don't have a bruise or smell of blood on you.
I'm curious to know, why are you so volatile that you can't have a normal conversation with people on nairalanda without being offensive? Only frustrated people exhibit such habit.

Sure, of course. But their nuisance to human in the ecosystem is very disturbing. Butterfly is also part of the ecosystem without causing harm to humans.

Some species can survive 1year plus without blood meal and reproduce really fast, their egg can survive harsh environment. It's the reason they can be difficult to completely get rid off.

Their bite is painful than that of mosquito and smell very bad and also they reproduced best in crowded room with wooden furniture. Also if you live in ceiling appointment just forgot it because once they enter ceiling it's best to burn down the house.

Smell/odor from insecticide will not affect them unless it touches them.

This baffles me too. All these creations are just to keep humans on their toes. Life is too complicated.

But the funny thing is you will be surprised all those insect are useful in one way or the other. I once read that useless housefly makes flower bloom or something like that. But in all most of the insects are menace to human beings, A good example is Mosquito. That's the insect i hate most in this life, after is housefly, then cockroach. These 3 insects are too close to human beings. I don't have problems with bed-bugs provided i am very neat. But you see those useless 3 you can eliminate them entirely from your environment even if you reside in posh areas.

And lastly, the reason why these 3 insects exist in abundance in Nigeria is because Nigerians are extremely dirty and the 3 insects thrives in dirty environments.

Huge Pharmaceutical Companies abroad are cashing out Billions of dollars yearly on MALARIA!!! And i don't think they will ever pray Mosquitoes are entirely elinimated in Africa.

Personal experience;

So it happened that my dad sent me to one of his friends office to pick up a file and on getting there the man was not around so the secretary asked me to sit down on the sofa (my greatest undoing)

The man's office is a very big one so they have a separate visitors room where you can just relax while you wait for him. I sat down and slept off while waiting for him but woke up to a sting.

My first thought was maybe it was this normal mosquitoes that flies around so I did not read much to it then the man came attended to me and I went to give my dad his files. Note that I don't stay with my dad so immediately I dropped the file I excused myself and went home to my roomself contain on getting hoke I took off my cloth threw ot on the bed and went to take my shower (2nd mistake).

When I got back I picked up the clothes and put it in the basket unbeknownst to me I already have a foreigner in my room. After about 3 days I started noticing stings but this was different from the normal mosquitoes because I fleet my room at interval. One night it was so much that I had to wake up in the middle of the night to check that was when I stone of them on the wall, I killed it but then I begin to wonder how I got it there.
To cut the story short I discovered that I got it from my dad's friend office the day they decided to dispose off the Cushine in that off due to bug and funmigate then it dawn on me where they came from.

Note that I used a lot of chemicals but they wouldn't leave, sniper ,DD force, baygon even kerosene but alas that said my time is over in that house. Immediately my rent was due I took very few cloths to the dry cleaner got rid of most of my household items by selling it off to get a new one and that was how I got rid of bed bugs.

Those things never die.

If you've ever experienced bed bug invasion share your experience and how you got rid of them.
DD force is the best approach to eradicate them. When you flit, do it in a way that you won't stay there for at least 2 weeks.
Re: How Bed Bugs Made Me Relocate: by nwanyiugbo122(f): 9:41pm On Aug 03, 2024
Those creatures are monsters. They invaded our house, like play like joke every corner of the house they are there, even curtains walls, creek. Every night me and hubby will be crushing them, our room wall has blood stain. In the night when I checked on my kids, they will will be all over them,as soon as they see light, they will start running away. Nothing I didn't do to eliminate them no way. We lodged in a hotel for 2 weeks, every evening hubby would empty 1 bottle of original sniper every where, he did that for 3 days. We didn't see them again till today.

I no dey like to talk about this bedbug matter again because my case was similar to Ur own but my own case was worse,I leave in a single room apartment where I gave birth to my first child and this thing find it way to my house when people were coming to celebrate with me and I have a single two seater chair then,I started battling it,I got another apartment which was a room and parlour in other to avoid them,I sold my bed, mattress and chair to aboki and some other furniture's and I bought new set of chair, bed and mattress and this thing disappeared for like 4months but to my suprise it still showed up,I swear life tire me that time, make I no like this thing frustrated my life for almost additional four years with so much effort to get rid of it oo,when I couldnt bear it any longer I had to repeat what I did the first time by renting a two bed apartment and sold all my belongings to aboki just to avoid them, but this still showed up there again but they couldn't thrive there because there are lot of spaces in that house.lesson learnt is that bed bugs thrive mostly in most place that is so choke when things are so close to each other

That's the problem. You won't feel it. They come out around 4am. According to scientist, that is when sleep is deepest. They also inject some sort of chemical in the bite area to kill sensitivity around the bite area while they feast on your blood.

But if you are sensitive enough, you can feel them crawling on your skin. The area they bite become red and swollen about 3 hours later.

Ps: they have a sweet musky smell like cabin biscuits too when you kill them. That smell is unique.
Yuck! You find that disgusting smell sweet?

Weirdo!

Its true, I used sniper (original) to eliminate mine.
Re: How Bed Bugs Made Me Relocate: by akinsto4ever(m): 10:03pm On Aug 03, 2024
Bedbugs are very hard to eliminate, but not impossible. I recommend that you get gongon insecticide(its about 8-10k)and study their patterns to get their hiding places. Once you're sure of all their hiding places spray directly on them. It kills them and their eggs instantly

I relocated my family out of abuja entire because of those creatures. They made life unbearable for us. Although they still follow us to our new location

Bedbugs

My experience with this bugs was very rough. I never heard of bugs before. It happen that I started noticing it on my bed. I didn’t pay attention since I’ve never experience it before. They are increasing in number and my gf called my to noticed, had to pay attention this time cos every night we can hardly sleep peacefully.
I tried using sniper flite but all to no avail. Then went to get sniper chemical. I pray the bed and all their eggs but they still appear again after couples of weeks.

I was even thinking of looking for people that fumigate but it’s hard to find them around my location. I bought chemical again and this time I spray all the rooms. Left the house for 2 days and now they’ve disappeared since that time.

I still have my chemical left incase they showed again. It’s my first time hearing about bugs and experiencing it.
