Theory Of Evolution: My Observation In Nigeria by Damian911(op): 9:48pm On Aug 05, 2024
I don't totally believe much in Charles Darwin's theory of Evolution but my recent observation is currently making consider my previous doubt.

In the 80s and 90s here in Nigeria most adolescent and teenagers of the time appear moderate or smaller anatomically but today you'll see a13 yr old with the body of 18 yrs old
Recently met a girl that looked anatomically like 24 except for her younger face and was astonished to hear she's just 17 shocked shocked shocked
Like WTF shocked shocked shocked and this shit common among female also common in male but lesser compared to female. This is a stark biological contrast to their late 20th century peers and the big questions are as follows:
1) Does the above scenario prove Darwin's theory of Evolution right? Especially in the area of development

2) Does that mean biological evolution of humans is accelerating? Does that mean future humans will be bigger than current just like the latter is bigger than previous century?

3) What are the consequences (if any either positive or negative) of this unbridled development or the development may stop in the not-so distant future?

These are my thoughts provoking observations and analysis. You all are free to air your respective opinions and better still constructive and logical arguments will be appreciated!

For those who don't have the patience to read the long post, here is a summary:

The author has observed a significant increase in physical development among today's adolescents compared to previous generations. This observation has led them to question the validity of Darwin's theory of evolution, specifically regarding human development.

They ponder whether this accelerated physical growth indicates an increasing rate of human evolution and speculate about the potential consequences of this trend.

Essentially, the author is presenting an observation about apparent rapid physical changes in young people and questioning the implications for human evolution.

You're welcome 🤗

So much processed foods, GMOs, junk foods. The chemicals they feed those poultry birds and other edible animals to make them grow very fast, what do you think they do to the systems of humans consuming them?
You see females these days already seeing their menses as early as 11. Then they hit menopause really fast too. You see small gals with jugs and ass of a grown woman. If you no careful you fit go dey kpansh minors.
Our world is so "chemicalised" these days. And trust me it is going to get worse.
Re: Theory Of Evolution: My Observation In Nigeria by Zaheertyler(m): 11:25pm On Aug 05, 2024
Foods have now become diverse..so diverse to the point that you can buy just protein
Previously you would eat only maize
Now have different products from Maize e.g golden morn
These products with their nutritional content when processed are mixed with other products with high nutritional content that if the kids are fed they will start looking like Agric
I remember when I made a gruel mix product from the mixture of fonio ,acha and protein concentrate
The nutritional composition or physiochemical properties of fonio, Acha and protein concentrate individually is good now mixing these good foods together would blow up any child
healthier definitely that the one you give pap or custard
Too bad that project didn’t fly
Another factor is genetics
But the diversity of food products is the main factor
Now putting it in human terms
We are all diverse imagine if we all understood our strengths and brought it to the surface for the bettermen instead of looking for which is superior to which and which is better than which
If fonio was thinking that it was superior than Acha
They won’t come together to make a super food
Everything you see around you is put for you to understand and see how you can influence it for good not evil

Humans are actually evolving but not as science expected. In appearance, humans are looking more handsome but with weaker exoskeleton compared to back in the ages.

Nothing out of the ordinary. The food we eat today is different . More processed food.

For example agric chicken vs local chicken. One is fed with processed food one eats natural food and some processed food. Difference is clear. Agric chicken cant walk far and is mostly at one spot.

A generation that grew up eating indomie, meat pie, rice, shawama, coke, ice cream, catfish ( fed with hormones), agric chicken,bread/flour, imported frozen turkey and chicken. Obviously will look older na.

Your observation is intriguing...

And perhaps thought provoking.

However, it doesn't directly prove Darwin's theory of Evolution, but it does support the concept of adaptation and change in human populations over time.

The rapid growth and development in modern adolescents could be attributed to various factors such as improved nutrition and Healthcare, changes in lifestyle and environment, genetic variations and adaptations.

These factors can contribute to the observed differences in physical development and appearance between modern adolescents and their predecessors.

This does not mean necessarily biological evolution of humans is accelerating.

But it does suggests that human development is changing, but it's not necessarily an indication of accelerated biological evolution.

Evolution is a gradual process that occurs over many generations, and this scenario might be a result of environmental and lifestyle factors rather than a rapid evolutionary change.

The consequences of this rapid growth and development could be both positive and negative.

Positives may include improved overall health and well-being, increased physical capabilities and strength while the negatives may present potential health risks associated with rapid growth, such as joint problems or increased risk of certain diseases, social and psychological implications, such as increased pressure to conform to physical standards.

It's essential to note that this development might not continue indefinitely, and future generations may adapt to different environmental and lifestyle factors.

Like I stated your thoughts doesn't directly prove Darwin's theory of Evolution.

It highlights however the dynamic nature of human development and the potential for adaptation in response to changing environments and lifestyles!

I don't think it should be rightly called evolution or just the human body adapting to better conditions like high calorie foods,,lack of physical extortions, sedentary life style and cross breeding, looking at it from a general view it could be still called evolution because it is conditions that will influence change, for example the constant use of smart phones will cause great anatomical change like smaller squinty eyes, smaller fingers, etc

I greatly appreciate your analysis but what do you mean by * cross breeding*?
Besides does that mean our constant usage of smartphones may cause a slight changes in eyes and fingers of future humans?

While opinions and analysis are greatly appreciated, it's a pity some contributors are relying on Artificial Intelligence for their own argument/clarification undecided
This is not suppose to be so, this is for us as humans to debate on and not bringing in a bots opinion into. Later now una go dey complain about AI replacing humans, what you guys have demonstrated shows AI has replaced some of una in terms of intelligence and debate! So heart wrenching! undecided undecided undecided undecided undecided

cross breeding might not be the suitable word but selective marriage maybe better were men pick the women with the best traits and they give birth to offsprings that are hyper developed.
I have seen a research study on the adaptation of eyes to constant phone use over several generations their eyes will look like Chinese eyes

What part of my text seems to be AI generated...?

Reading your post, I initially wanted to take offence especially because you tagged me to your thread and I felt you should have just left it at that if you had your doubts - but on second thought I took your remark as a compliment.

For your information there is nothing wrong with using AI for research purposes. You make it sound like using it is an abominable and despicable thing. If I had used AI I would have referenced, as I usually do. Absolutely nothing wrong for one to research with AI to buttress an opinion or generate an idea.

You seem to have a lot going on with you recently. It seems to have affected your personality and moods, which I have started to notice. I can tell by your more recent comments.

Anyway, whatever challenges you are facing I wish you the best in overcoming them soon!

The bold is very true and it is not just women that are affected, but men as well. Global sperm counts have plunged over a generation and plastics in food, a sedentary lifestyle and the polluted air we breathe are outlined as the major reasons. In fact, in the quoted article in the Financial Times, research showed that certain genes in sexual formation were also affected. This led some commentators to question whether they could be responsible for transgender morphism.

"Global sperm counts are falling. This scientist believes she knows why" - FT.
"Count Down: How Our Modern World Is Threatening Sperm Count" - The book by the scientist who has spent her career studying the phenomenon.

It is an unfortunate something. Make we mind wetin we dey chop and how we dey live life.

Once bought catfish caught from the river here in Canada the stuff was very strong like panla and the skull didn’t scatter like the 9ja one. It wasn’t sweet. Some African stores sell the 9ja type but its imported from Taiwan.

Fortunately for me there's nothing going on with me if that's your observation then you're absolutely on the wrong side rather I've been witnessing accelerated development in my life compared to my same self few years ago and besides whoever who is comfortable can have time to think and post not someone going through tribulations!
There's nothing bad about my observation about you, I just felt your comment sounded AI like and what I wanted is human based opinions and what we as humans see and hear though nothing bad about using AI but constant usage and reliance is what I fear for. I don't want AI to make we as humans intellectually lazy, just people's opinion
Again me tagging you was because I respected and honored you not because of anything else. There are other Nairalanders here but respect and honor made me called you nothing else!
