This was just a cover up statement because evidence have shown that the druggie have been paying the same fuel subsidy hence benefitting from the corruption. Let's a genuine forensic audit of the NNPC and DPR be done to unearth the mind boggling corruption underneath. Tinubu is the most crooked man Nigeria has ever got on seat.

I love people that stands by their words, he made it known long before he became president that he will remove subsidy and we still voted for him,so why are we blaming him now.

Tinubu is a man of his word! It's time to stop subsidizing fuel for other countries. Let's focus on building Nigeria's economy and ensuring our resources benefit Nigerians first. His vision for collaboration with the private sector is the way forward!

Removing subsidy on PMS is not the issue per se. It is the incompetence in removing it and the attendant negative effects that BAT has failed to properly manage.

Also, the continous talk of the masses making sacrifices is ridiculous in the face of the extravagance of the political office holders. What sacrifices are they making?

Non of the presidential candidates, except maybe Sowore and one other person who campaigned against subsidy removal, truly understand the economics behind pms subsidy.

The subsidy in itself is not bad, it is the corruption inherent in it, so why not tackle the corruption and deal with the saboteurs rather than shift the burden on the masses?

Is it the masses that would secure the borders against pms smuggling? Rather than security forces tackling such insecurities, they are joining hands with the politicians to oppress, extort and bully the masses.

BAT's insistence on not reversing his stand on subsidy is not bravery, but a cowardly way to avoid confronting the real economic saboteurs.

No one is above mistake.

The quality of a good leader is to admit his errors and take responsibility.

There is supposed to be a measure in place before subsidy removal to cushion the negative effect on the economy. Nothing was put in place by past and current FG.
What they're saying is that, the weak will die and the strong and corrupt will survive

1. Well, he has not removed the subsidy, as seen by the fact that landing cost is still N1200 or above, and fuel is being sold at N580-700, do the math.

2. Also, the subsidy had to go, albeit partially. As at August 2022...90% of our revenue was going towards debt service. Already some governors were weeping that if care was not taken there would be no money for government business..including your salaries.

3. Hence, all 3 candidates saying subsidy had to go. One of them even called it a criminal enterprise (and he made me very happy when he said that).

4. Let's go back to 2011, why did GEJ take the madt decision to remove subsidy....because subsidy costs at 2011 were already thrice that of subsidy costs in 2010. See the image below.

5. At some point, while I don't like tinubu and GEJ at all, or any of our leading politicans, you have to sometimes put aside politics, likes and dislikes and evaluate things disappasionately.

See the image below. At points where subsidy was partially removed, subsidy costs fell drastically.

At least Tinubu recieved some wisdom now...back in 2012, he was busy opposing GEJ subsidy removal. See as he has now seen....karma.

: “Thus, where the private sector is doing well, my government will not interfere. Our guiding principle regarding economic policy shall be to provide the right policy framework so that business can flourish.“But I want to do more than help existing businesses to exist. We must create the space, where new sectors and lines of business can open. We must grow this economy so that it can accommodate over 200 million people with a decent standard of living.

“My government will collaborate with the private sector to bring about massive infrastructure renewal that enhances economic opportunities, lower business costs and overheads while producing jobs that spur further growth and development through increased consumer demand. This is the virtuous economic cycle we seek to create.”
Imagine the same person now having his men asphyxiating Dangote refinery and increasing electricity tarrif.

So much for the private sector.

My problem is not even with your fuel subsidy removal, but the level of corruption in this government is matched to non.
Why not cut the cost of governance in Nigeria? A Nigerian sanator's weekly allowances is enough to feed 5 thousand hungry Nigerians for a year. Politicians are cashing out in billions everyday while you advice the masses to endure.
tinubu didn't fix the salary or the allowance of the lawmakers.make una leave him alone.

That is why when a presidential candidate is talking and campaigning listen carefully to what he says before deciding to vote for him or not to vote for him..but not just to blindly vote for a presidential candidate base on tribalism ethnicity religion at the end.of the day you start complaining, protesting against him and his government of hunger hardship.,..but he warned you and told you all of this during hisd election campaign but blindly vote for him base on tribalism ethnicity religion and ignore the other competent presidential candidate that can make the economy and country better and provide a better life for nigerians

Good luck Jonathan has no ball, that's his undoing.
He's the kind of a politician everyone must not emulate. He's so weak. He had a good plan for Nigeria but too weak to implement them. If I were Jonathan, even if Tinubu sponsored protests for a month, I'd still stand my ground. After all, I'm in control of the military and police. I'd have arrested all the sponsors and charged them for treason.

Today, Nigeria would have been a better country. All those protesting back then just wanted to use subsidy and chibok girls to cease power. Even jega, the then inec boss had been given an appointment recently, which proofed what orubebe said inside the national collation centre of bias. After all, governor fayemi was right, that the protest was purely political.

People must learn from Jonathan. See what Nigeria has become today. Apc took advantage of him. It's a party who must not have been allowed to taste power forever. The subsidy apc is claiming has gone had come back in full force. So, who's deceiving who?

Tinubu is deceiving the people,
Nigerian government is still paying subsidy through backdoors, they just want the people to believe that subsidy is totally gone so that the people will relax then FG will start creating new price.

Nigeria is finished.

Yes, he said it and this is one reason I voted for him and supported him and I will support him again and again.

The Niger Delta that owned the oil never enjoys the subsidy but the North held the oil sector under siege since 1960 till date siphoning $billions to themselves while the owner of the oil are roting in poverty, its not done.

Baboon dey work monkey dey chop.

Atiku, Danjuma, Ismaila etc are the demons looting $Bilions on fake subsidy shit.

F u c k subsidy it is gone and that is final.

Go and protest till 2050 we will not return subsidy.

The attitude of the northern politicians just made me start supporting Tinubu. If he can handle them then he is the president. The northern politicians can not keep dictating how Nigerian leadership should be.
And you think the northerners are hungry like you? You think eating is their problem? You think to see garri, yam, rice etc eat na their wahala. Simply NO! Las las na una hunger go keel.
Support Tinubu. You're dieing silently, gradually of hunger. Carry 5k enter market, let's see when you come out you'll sing this same song angry

I am very sure in his mind he thought the removal of subsidy will turn Nigeria to heaven.

Nigeria is the only country where people think paying subsidy is evil. Rather than treating a disease we want to cure the symptoms.
