That is your headache. When I said the North I mentioned few names, can't you see it? No one enjoys it but only few demons stole everything about subsidy so subsidy must die and that is it.

What are the mitigating steps he had put in place to buffer the effects of the withdrawal?

Any man in power can proclaim that he's withdrawing subsidy. There's nothing genius about that statement.
It is what you put in place to reduce the attendant shock that comes with the removal that matters.

How clueless? By standing with his promises? Jonathan is a good example of clueless. Tinubu already foresee the hardship and the later benefits of his actions and he stood by it. Let me shock you, if this protest reduces the population to half, this guy will not back down. To fight cabals benefiting from a program is not easy, but because he was a member, reason he was being supported. Thank God it's not Obi, or Atiku they would have stayed 3 years b4 eventually removing subsidy and when protests erupt, they will form sympathy and quickly return the subsidy.
