I think its because the celebrities are popular, so such news goes viral.

Aside that, many people die everyday that are not thrown into lime light. Nollywood actors are not exempted from humans

Does he need crowdfunding?
Why does it need to be made public?
You lost a child and the first thing that came to your mind is announcing it on social media.
Social media is a community, there nothing wrong announcing the demise of your loved one here.
Don't people announce deaths in the newspapers? Don't they play wooden gongs and 'towncryer' announcing deaths in the rural communities? Is it that those one need crowdfunding?

OMG... 15 years! My deep condolences go to Francis Duru. He's one of the very few Nigerian-born actors I respect for his stage acting and screen times.

Take charge bro.

He is a public figure, he can't call everyone to the news, this is the only way to get it across to friends and well wishes which you are not among.

I don't think any father would celebrate the loss of a son, not even if that son was a reincarnation of Anini. Duru is a media personality and his announcement for the most part calms the rumours that could swirl in such instances..

From his write up I wouldn't say it was a brief ailment. Looks like the little champ battled for a while before giving up. May God give Duru and his family the fortitude to sail through this time of pain.. RIP

Very good question that Nigerians don't like answering! Was he sick? Was it an accidental death? Others can learn from the cause of death and prevent it!

May God console the family

To the idiots running mouth in my mentions; if you've never lost someone dearly to you, you perhaps won't understand.
At that point, nothing interests you anymore, not even food which is a necessity let alone social media. How you are grieving and the major thing on your mind is how to post it on 2go and LinkedIn is what I don't know. You can as well monetize the death.

Bunch of attention seeking retards.
This attitude of our people really surprises me. How can you go to social media to announce your child’s death?

May we, our friend, and even our enemies no witness death of a child, AMEN

Imagine having 3 children and something happen to one..
Kw he is left with just two (one Son) ...
Take heart Duru...

Men no form woke oo born enough oo.. if your wife say na few em want... marry another wife... Ire ooooo
I remember the PH couple that lost all the 3 of their teenage children, a son and two daughters who were students of the Loyola Jesuit College in Abuja (they were all flying back for holidays with other students from their school in Abuja). The Sosoliso plane had the delectable Bimbo Odukoya onboard as well when it landed, crashed and burst into flames during a bad weather in the 2000s. Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde's pilot husband actually flew that plane from Lagos to Abuja before the flight took off again with another set of pilots from Abuja to PH.

Those who lost all their children in that plane crash or via school bus accidents had to start having children all over again after therapy sessions with psychotherapists.

Having 10 children is even NO absolute guarantee that they will all not pass on before the parents do. There are esoteric permutations in this life that are beyond the understanding of the average human on the street level. The most important thing is to live a fulfilled life and don't ever be afraid to write a will from the age of 40 years so that you can start tidying things up with regards to your assets and liabilities.

I have pondered over this so many times. When such deaths Happen, you become so weak to even be on social media, let alone tweeting about it.
Although you can still reduce your tone on him sha

That was harsh but definitely needed..Lol..A lot of these folks can be very annoying. The wound pass for the biblical Pharisees anytime, anyday. For rebuking him, go to any Palmi joint and get a bottle on Nwaimaikpe's bill..Lol
