Like I noted before. All of the kids were dutifully behind their father until she forced and dragged them to go with her. That the kids were standing with the father 'comfortably' and by default gives the first hint what's what in the home.

And even when she left, she left without her last child in the carrier, but with those old enough to handle themselves to an extent. What mother does that? Leave her youngest child who is possible not 100% weaned off her with the father because she was angry??

I'm sorry, but as far as instinctive maternal attributes go, that's a fail.
