The concept of royalty, kingship is an archaic leadership model not fit for the modern era; definitely not fit for a democratic setup. Ability to lead is not heritable; the father was a great king does not mean that the son will also be a great king. In fact, history has shown that if a family has produced ten leaders (kings), usually 2 are great leaders (and they are usually far apart in time; maybe the first started the empire, and the second probably tried to restore it to old glory), 3 are terrible leaders who almost ruined the nation, and the remaining 5 don't make much impact; things don't get too worse. Yet, every generation has individuals who could have been great leaders, but they were not in the royal family. |
