52. THE BASILISK The Basilisk is a legendary reptile reputed to be a serpent king, who can cause death with a single glance. According to the Naturalis Historia of Pliny the Elder, the basilisk of Cyrene is a small snake, "being not more than twelve fingers in length",that is so venomous, it leaves a wide trail of deadly venom in its wake, and its gaze is likewise lethal. The basilisk's weakness is the odor of the weasel, which, according to an account was thrown into the basilisk's hole, recognizable because some of the surrounding shrubs and grass had been scorched by its presence.

53. THE KAPPA The Kappa also known as RIVER BOY is an amphibious mysterious being found in traditional Japanese folklore. They are typically depicted as green, human-like beings with webbed hands and feet and a turtle-like carapace on their back.Kappa are said to be roughly humanoid in form and about the size of a child, inhabiting the ponds and rivers of Japan.Clumsy on land, they are at home in the water, and thrive during the warm months. They are typically greenish in color or yellow-blue and either scaly or slimy skinned, with webbed hands and feet, and a turtle-like carapace on their back.Inhuman traits include three anuses that allow them to pass three times as much gas as humans.Despite their small stature they are physically stronger than a grown man. The kappa are sometimes said to smell like fish and they can swim like them. According to some accounts, kappa's arms are connected to each other through the torso and can slide from one side to the other. While they are primarily water creatures, they do on occasion venture onto land. When they do, the "dish" on their head can be covered with a metal cap for protection.Kappa are usually seen as mischievous troublemakers or trickster figures. Their actions range from the comparatively minor, such as looking up women’s underneath if they venture too near to water to the outright malevolent, such as drowning people and animals, kidnapping children, raping women and at times eating human flesh. Though sometimes menacing, they may also behave amicably towards humans. While younger kappa are frequently found in family groups, adult kappa live solitary lives. However, it is common for kappa to befriend other mythical beings and sometimes even people.

55. GARGOYLE The Gargoyle is a creature of magic first cited in a French legend that sprang up around the name of St. Romanus (631–641 AD), the former chancellor of the Merovingian king Clotaire II who was made bishop of Rouen, relates how he delivered the country around Rouen from a monster called Gargouille or Goji. The Gargoyle is said to have been the typical dragon with bat-like wings, a long neck, and the ability to breathe fire from its mouth. Multiple versions of the story are being given, either that St. Romanus subdued the creature with a crucifix, or he captured the creature with the help of the only volunteer, a condemned man. In each, the monster is led back to Rouen and burned, but its head and neck would not burn due to being tempered by its own fire breath. The head was then mounted on the walls of the newly built church to scare off evil spirits, and used for protection. In commemoration of St. Romain, the Archbishops of Rouen were granted the right to set a prisoner free on the day that the reliquary of the saint was carried in procession

57. BEHEMOTH The behemoth is huge unconquerable land beast from the Bible so powerful from its description that scientists believe it to be one of the last dinosaurs to walk the planet. It is said to be one of God’s first creation (a primeval beast of choas) who had only one arch enemy “The leviathan” and a battle is said to ensue between the two in the last days. It’s known to live in some hidden part of the Garden of Eden (according to extracts from the book of Enoch). The leviathan is also said to reach its highest peak of its strength every summer solstice. The behemoth is known to be a creature of immense power and does its bid in maintaining that reputation by putting other wild beast at bay. Biblical account: “He eats grass like an ox. Significant strength in his lions and power in the muscles of his belly. Tail stiff like a cedar and the sinews of his thighs are knit together. Bones are made of tunes of bronze and it’s limbs like bars of iron”(Job 40:15-18) I hope you enjoyed the piece Stay tuned for more Ryeo ❄️

58.COCKATRICE The cockatrice was a creature born from the egg of a rooster and hatched by a serpent. Sometimes compared to a basilisk, it had a dragon-like body and a rooster's head, and was said to be able to turn people, animals, and plants to stone just by looking at them or even breathing on them. The creature is considered highly venomous and If you were in cockatrice-infested parts, your only hope of survival was to bring a weasel or a rooster with you — allegedly, the weasel was immune to the cockatrice's powers, and the crow of a rooster would kill one instantly.

59. The chupacabra The Chupacabra is a legendary creature in the folklore of parts of the Americas, with its first purported sightings reported in Puerto Rico in 1995. The name comes from the animal's reported vampirism;the chupacabra is said to attack and drink the blood of livestock, including goats. The most common description of the chupacabra is that of a reptile-like creature, said to have leathery or scaly greenish-gray skin and sharp spines or quills running down its back.It is said to be approximately 3 to 4 feet (0.9 to 1.2 m) high, and stands and hops in a fashion similar to that of a kangaroo. Another common description of the chupacabra is of a strange breed of wild dog. This form is mostly hairless and has a pronounced spinal ridge, unusually pronounced eye sockets, fangs, and claws. Unlike conventional predators, the chupacabra is said to drain all of the animal's blood (and sometimes organs) usually through three holes in the shape of a downwards-pointing triangle, but sometimes through only one or two holes.

60. THE FIREBIRD A magical and prophetic glowing or burning bird from a faraway land (often confused with the Phoenix and no one is to blame for that because of the striking semblance or reputation) the fire bird is both a blessing and a harbinger of doom to its captor In Slavic folklore, the Firebird burns with flames so bright that it lights up its surroundings – and a single feather from the bird will stay alight with the same magic. Firebirds bring luck, but also doom. They are hunted and coveted, but they always bring more trouble in their wake than anyone had anticipated.

61. ICE DRAGONS Ice dragons are colossal beats much larger than the dragons of Valyria and made of living ice, with eyes of pale blue crystal and vast translucent wings, breathing cold instead of flames. They are actual living creatures, not undead wight dragons. The first ice dragons came about during the Ice Age. They evolved from the water dragons but their bodies had to adapt to a cold environment; eventually, they began to produce unique adaptations such as sharp ridges and spikes of ice coating their body to protect from predators and a breath weapon of freezing air to turn foes to ice. -R A W

62. The MINOKAWA The minokawa is a bird-like creature whose origins stem from Filipino culture. They describe the bird’s appearance as being strong and mysterious. Before time began, very long ago, a great bird called Minokawa swallowed the moon. Seized with fear, all the people began to scream and made great noises. Then the bird peeped down to see what the matter was, and opened his mouth. But as soon as he opened his mouth, the moon sprang out and ran away. The Minokawa-bird is as large as the Island of Negros or Bohol. It has a beak of steel, and his claws too are of steel. His eyes are mirrors, and each single feather is a sharp sword. He lives outside the sky, at the eastern horizon, ready to seize the moon and after the unsuccessful attempt of swallowing the satellite, it journeys and haunts again lurking under the earth. In Filipino mythology, the minokawa is an evil creature whose goal is to destroy life itself. Every night, the minokawa tries to eat the moon and the sun. The devious bird’s end goal is to descend onto earth and eat all of humanity

63. The Ghatanothoa Ghatanothoa is a Great Old One and the first born child of Cthulhu. It is a huge, amorphous monstrosity which is so hideous, anyone who gazes upon it (or even a perfect replica) is petrified into a living mummy. The victim is permanently immobilized—the body taking on the consistency of leather and the internal organs and brain preserved indefinitely—yet remains fully aware. Only the destruction of the subject's brain can free it from its hellish prison, though the unfortunate is likely to be incurably insane long before the welcomed release.

64. FENRIR Fenrir is a monstrous wolf in Norse mythology. In Old Norse texts, Fenrir plays a key role during the events of Ragnarök, where he is foretold to assist in setting the world aflame, resulting in the collapse of humanity and society, and kill the god Odin. The giant wolf happens to be a child of Loki and female jötunn Angrboða. When the gods found out of this prophecy , foretelling the great trouble from Fenrir and his rapid growth, the gods bound him and as a result Fenrir bit off the right hand of the god Týr.

65. LAELAPS LAELAPS was a dog that could always catch whatever it was tracking. There are no stories concerning Laelaps parentage, but there are some who suggest that it is the same dog that watched over baby ZEUS on CRETE. A golden hound was tasked with safeguarding baby Zeus, who would later become the King of Gods. The story of Laelaps began with the abduction of Europa by Zeus. Zeus had taken the form of a bull to abduct Europa. He took her to the island of Crete, where he made love to the beautiful princess. Europa then got pregnant and bore Zeus three sons – Rhadamanthys, Minos, and Sarpedon. Zeus, however, did not remain on the island of Crete; he abandoned Europa there, but not without gifts. He gifted his lover a javelin, which when thrown would not miss its target. The other gift was TALOS, the man of bronze who would always protect Europa. The third gift that Zeus left Europa was Laelaps, the hunting dog that would never miss its targets. Europa ruled the island of Crete, and she got married to King Asterion. Being mortal, Europa eventually passed away and Talos became the protector of Crete. The other two gifts, Laelaps and the javelin were inherited by one of Europa’s sons, Minos. Minos also became king of Crete after Asterion died. Unfortunately, MINOS had major problems because of his jealous wife, PASIPHAE. She had cursed him to ejaculate poisonous snakes and scorpions. This curse was meant to limit the extra-marital affairs of Minos because any lover he was with would be killed. Procris, the Athenian princess, and the wife of Cephalus came to Crete after leaving her husband. It was during this time that the paths of Minos and Procris crossed. Procris promised Minos that she could cure him of his curse, which she did. As a sign of gratitude, Minos gifted her with the javelin and Laelaps. Procris would then return to her husband, Cephalus. Unfortunately, Cephalus accidentally killed her in a hunting accident. The javelin and Laelaps now belonged to Cephalus. Soon after the death of Procris, Amphitryon came to Cephalus after the husband of Alcmene was tasked by Creon to get rid of the TEUMESSIAN FOX, which had been terrorizing THEBES. The Teumessian Fox was a man-eating monster that threatened the life of the people of Thebes. Unfortunately, this animal was also destined to never be caught, and no hunter had ever come close to catching it. That is why Amphitryon sought to use Laelaps because it was destined to always capture its prey. Cephalus agreed to use Laelaps to hunt the Teumessian Fox. In return, Amphitryon would share with Cephalus the spoils of the oncoming war with the Taphians. Using Laelaps to capture the Teumessian Fox created a paradox. After Zeus observed what was going on, he decided to bring the chase to an end. Zeus turned both animals into stones. He then transformed them into two constellations so that the chase could continue. The TWO CONSTELLATIONS are Canis Major (Laelaps) and Canis Minor (the Teumessian Fox). 66. CADEJO The CADEJO is a supernatural spirit that appears as a dog-shaped creature with blue eyes when it is calm and red eyes when it is attacking. It roams around isolated roads at night, according to Central American folklore of indigenous origin. There is a good white cadejo and an evil black cadejo. Both are spirits that appear at night to travelers: The white cadejo protects them from harm and danger during their journey, while the black cadejo (sometimes an incarnation of the devil) tries to kill them. They usually appear in the form of a large, shaggy dog (potentially as big as a cow) with burning red eyes and goat's hooves, although in some areas, they have more rough characteristics. According to the stories, many have tried to kill the black cadejo, but have failed and perished. It is said that if a cadejo is killed, it will smell terrible for several days, and then its body will disappear. Some Guatemalan and Salvadoran folklore also tells of a cadejo that protects drunk people against anyone who tries to rob or hurt them. When the cadejo is near, it is said to bring a strong goat-like smell. Turning one's back on the cadejo or speaking to it are said to induce insanity #mythical_k9s

69. The MIMIC The Mimic is an elusive, mysterious, copycat spirit/demon that mirrors traits and behaviours from others, including other ghost types. The mimic is capable of imitating the voice of its victims or loved ones and it grows stronger the more you acknowledge its presence literally feeding off that energy. Basically there's not much documented about the mimic but if you happen to hear a voice calling out to you using your own voice mostly when you're all alone in the house or out walking alone yeah you're most likely dealing with a MIMIC,It sometimes mimics the voice of your loved ones calling out to you at odd hours trying to trick you, your best defense is to ignore its existence because the moment you acknowledge its existence by responding it grows stronger. They don't have a form of their own so they just assume the form of that which they imitate.
