It is very interesting that nobody has mentioned any Wole Soyinka book.
Terrible writer, hate every of his book. Too much unnecessary English.

I think Honourable Patrick Obahiagbon can write a better book than him.

Were you able to lay your hands on the book that inspired the author to write it?

I mean, "The Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace D. Wattles.

I believe in miracle!
I have this book! Sitting somewhere in my yahoo mail since 2009.

It had some really interesting concepts about bending things to your will with your mind.

Harry Potter series 1 - 7 by J.K Rowling is the most interesting and engaging piece of literature I've ever read, but I don't consider it a novel due to the length.

For proper novels, my best five are:

1. Windmill of the Gods - Sidney Sheldon (The don of unexpected twists, mindblowing suspense and action. Number 1 for a reason)

2. By the light of the moon - Dean Koontz (Exciting mystery, thriller, gave me my first insight into fictional nanotechnology)

3. Kane & Abel - Jeffery Archer (a masterpiece in family politics, plots & business intrigues)

4. Shogun - James Clavell (Greatest epic book imo. My first introduction to Seppuku and other Asian practices)

5. Beyond Pardon - Bertha M. Clay (greatest romance novel in my opinion and to think it was written since 1890)

Locally, my best five:

1. The Gods are not to blame - Ola Rotimi

2. Arrows of God - Chinua Achebe

3. An African night's entertainment - Cyprian Ekwensi

4. A gift to the troubled tribe - Segun Okunoren

5. Shaka Zulu (the funny sounding names like bulawayo, dingiswayo were so fascinating to me at the time combined with the epic plot)

By the way who remembers the book below:
pls where can I download African novels for free?

Sorrows of Satan.
Beyond Pardon.

Apart from the Chases...
Beyond pardon was the most emotional romance story I read. Lord and Lady Eleanor Rydal. I could visualize the scenes with the way the story was told. A true classic.

Thanks. MOTG is without a doubt one of my GOAT novels along with Bloodline but I wanted to only include one novel per author for DEI purposes (lol) so I chose the first Sheldon novel I read that totally made me feel like I was having an unending literary orgasm - Windmills of the Gods.

Sometimes I wonder how I fell in love with reading novels. I presume it was out of sheer curiosity. Although I no longer read novels, I can't help but reminisce on the good ol' days.

I've read a lot of novels from authors such as Dante Alighieri, Leo Tolstoy, George R.R. Martin, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Stephen King, Dan Brown, Agatha Christie, J.K. Rowling, Mario Puzo, Robert Ludlum, J.R.R. Tolkien, Sidney Sheldon, George Orwell, Tom Clancy, James Patterson and our very own Chinua Achebe just to mention a few.

My personal favourite would be Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky.

What's yours?

I didn't read your choice before writing same.

I dont think there is any book with much hold on the reader as Crime and Punishment. I simply saw the headline, went on to reply only to come back to now read the post to found that Crime and Punishment was also your choice.

Kindly say, what captivated you most about Dostoyevsky's style in that book.
I am waiting for your reply pls.

You lost it even before you started.

If ur comment is on political or outside educative post, i wouldnt have commented on you.

I took my time to read every comment from beginning until I reached ur comment. Every comentator says something to have meaningful contribution. When it gets to yours! .........

I will be surprised if you ever read a single novel, yet foolish and hopeless guys like you, normaly wail about lady not ready and poor wen discussing issues,. I think someone who silent when discusing issues, is far better than an hopeless guy who has become nuisance to educated topic.

People see you as a lunatic in making, that just started displaying trait of madness, while you mistaken it for arogancy.

Meanwhile, did you even think number of years you will continuing to wail and lameting,...4? 8? 12?

I no pity u o, but mama that give birth to lunatic, mistaken it for glorious child.
