I'm an engineer, just acquired my license in my career pathway 4 months. Securing a job as not been easy with the license as our job is offshore, God helped an opportunity came through, I went there after all the preparations and readiness and messed up myself. Till now I'm yet to forgive myself. This was a good opportunity for me , there are alot of bills to be paid, expections was high. Till now I feel I have disappointed myself and my family. No job no paid. I wish I can overcome this guilt, I feel extremely bad since then. Please someone should advise me on how to overcome this in this harsh economy, I'm feeling terrible right now.

I remember attending an interview in Lekki phase 1 , I came from Berger , got there late, sweating profusely… When it was my turn, I was called , as I opened the door , didn’t even walk up to 4 steps , I slipped 😳😩, my file scatter for ground , my eye de shine like who de purge , they screamed, get up , sorry , get up 😩, at that point , I knew Devil was fully around 😩😩, Devil nor get conscience oh🙆🏿‍♀️


That was actually my first interview, can’t forget that Special day 😀😍

It's normal to feel that way. I felt same when I lost a job. You will do better and not to give up

Take it easy bro... I feel your pain...

I know what it means to pass such troubling times but you have to move on and push on.

Just because this didn't work out doesn't mean that it is the end of the world... Be prepared for the next opportunity and take it.

You will gets better with time

Someone has to win unfortunately you weren't the chosen one this time, work on yourself and see how to be better next time.

Everyone will pass this stage of life,, learn the lesson and move on. In the meantime try and diversity your income streams in order that you won't be in great tension the next time you have an opportunity like this. I bet you if you had been doing better financially you wouldn't be in this kind of stress. Most people fail interviews because they see the interview as a means to elevating them from their financial woes thereby making them build a lot of anxiety within resulting in poor interview output.

Your chances of getting a job when you do one interview is very close to zero but your chances increases after doing at least 5.

What aspect of engineering? electrical, mechanical, or petrochemical. What's your location?

I also went for mini interview yesterday the woman I met there was behaving like a typical devil in character. All the men there were playing cracking jokes with everyone but this wicked woman is something else.

What brand of engineering? You shouldn't have that much difficultly finding work as an Engineer. If you are, then apply to countries outside Nigeria.

Lower your voice abeg, because there are no jobs in Nigeria and foreign jobs would require a foreign university certificate and work experience.

Why don't you lower yours or why're you coming at me with this tone? So my saying the OP should try applying for jobs abroad is a problem for you or wetin be your own? Because I don't understand the discouragement you're trying to cast in here. There are engineering jobs abroad that offer visa sponsorships. In fact, I just looked up some now and the first posting I'm looking at is for a position in the U.S that says, "Hiring multiple candidates" and "We ARE willing to offer visa sponsorship for the right candidates!". I won't make a suggestion for the OP if I know it's not possible, but of course this is dependent on other factors of his (e.g. finances). If his results are good (they will likely ask for his transcripts) and he can gather some money that he'll need, then this could be possible for him. In any case, this is merely a suggestion, and he can either consider or ignore it. Either way, I wish him good luck!

Marine Engineering is a tricky one. If you have the right certifications (which are very expensive) and a few years experience, na job go dey look for you. (ALL OVER THE WORLD)

If not, nothing for you o.

Nobody cares where you did your masters. The UK isn't the only country in the world. The U.S and Canada also exist and are actually better for industries like engineering. Please refrain from quoting me again.

Dust yourself up already and push on. If one opportunity is lost, another would suffice, but not when you are feeling downcast.

it's different from oil and gas , it's a ship job .

Interviewing is a skill. Learn from each one.

You are now better at it!

Also, they interview lots of people so don’t get down.
