The construction of Ten Storey Five Star Hotel
The journey to make Awka a preferred destination in Nigeria and to build a new city has started. The benefits are enormous. Awka 2.0 will not only make Awka ’greener’, it will spur massive economic growth in Anambra State.
The piling works for a 10–storey, 5-star hotel just Commenced. The government plans to show investors its commitment to Awka 2.0 with this signature project. However, since government is not good in business, this edifice shall be managed and owned by private sector players as soon as the Awka 2.0 vision begins to take shape. Think of the role the Nicon Hilton Hotel Abuja (now known as Transcorp Hilton Hotel) played in the development of Abuja and the role it continues to play under the management of Transcorp. Awka 2.0 signature hotel will follow this trajectory.

With the upcoming 5-star hotel, the area in and around the convention centre needs to be spruced up and made spotless! A dual carriageway needs to be constructed to replace the existing one; it should be lined on both sides with trees; grass should be regularly manicured and watered; a bus shuttle service should operate between the hotel and the airport…running at say 1 hour intervals; and something should be done about that warehouse next door as it lowers the tone of the neighbourhood….if the state gov’t can’t buy it or provide alternative land for the owner, they should plant tall trees that would grow to block out the view….you don’t want to be looking out of your hotel window as you sip your morning coffee to see that!

On point, that area is Awka 2.0 , the Millennium City, the new shopping mall are within that location, there's plan to build another flyover at Immigration junction and extend the dualise road, Awka is fast charging, the fun city will be commission before Christmas

Is the plan to extend the Esther Obiakor road into Ifite, around Anaocha axis perpendicular to the existing Ifite Road?
