Who is/are Izu Anioma and who elected him/them to speak for the Anioma people. We are not Igbos. Every state in Nigeria is made of several ethnic groups that speak different languages, the states were not created based on language. The days of Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba are over, it marginalises other prominent ethnicities, hence the identification as geopolitical zones. The Aniomas preference is to form a brotherhood with Itshekiris, Ijaws, Urhobos and the other ethnicities that make Delta a wonderful, important and welcoming state.

All those agitating for Anioma are power hungry and selfish individuals looking to create a puppet state they can control. It will never happen!

The reason Ika and Ndokwa people have greatly withdrawn from this Anioma nonsense is because of some Aniocha Oshimili people. When Ika wants to release statement or discuss about their identity and politics, they restrict it to Ika, when Ukwani wants to do same, they restrict it to Ndukwa but some overzealous Oshimili people keep trying to impose their identity on everyone trying to createa new ethnic group that has never existed. Anioma has never been an ethnic group but a group of related ethnic groups that are completely independent and autonomous.

You think there will ever be any Yoruba group that ever denied their Yoruba identity. Dey play. Even Yoruba group outside Nigeria and African territory wear their Yoruba heritage with pride. You will never see a Yoruba either from Kwara or Kogi or even Niger state that will tell you they are not Yoruba. What unite Yorubas is deeper than language and culture. Virtually all Yoruba group share common heritage and spirituality. That you are locked in the east, south, north of the world, or that you are a Christian or Muslim is not strong enough to defeat your yoruba identity.

The only place Ooni traveled to was Brazil and the president there even called himself proud son of oduduwa.

The presidential palace in Barbados is called ilaro (named after ilaro town in Ogun state). It's the Brazilians and south American that worship Yoruba gods and often travel to Yorubaland, home of their ancestors.

In these case of Ika or Ikwerre vs ibos, those are the ones divided and a majority do not want to be associated with Ibo. Nothing concern Yorubas with that one. Please stick to the topic. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I recall that some Egba people do not even regard Ekiti and Ondo people as Yorubas. Forget the issue we have as igbos other tribes have it, but they are so clever in putting it under wraps. My Landlord a Yoruba man some years back told me this that they differences we have in igboland, they have it even worse. A Yewa man cannot stand toe to toe with an Ijebu man so what is different from ours? The same with Ife and Modakeke.
