Sane Nigerians must resist this policy and it's high we make firm decision never to vote APC into power again. It's obvious that they don't know what they are doing. Age 16 should be the limit and not 18. The plan is obvious, after stealing the wealth of the masses, you intend to make the Children beggars so that by the time their own children have gone outside the country to study, those ones still in school can't lay hold onto employment rights. Tinubu is a drug master, that stupid Man sniffs drugs early in the morning and late at night. All his decisions have been totally woeful all this while... We can't wait for his sudden death in power. |

“Even basically if you compute the number of years pupils, and learners are supposed to be in school, the number you will end up with is 17 and a half – from early child care to primary school to junior secondary school and then senior secondary school. You will end up with 17 and a half by the time they are ready for admission."FG better start from the next academic session to ensure that no child younger than 6 gets admitted to Primary 1, then they can achieve their so called 18 years if the child doesn't repeat. That will be 6 years at home + 6 years in Pry school + 6 years in secondary school. It doesn't make sense enforcing such now |

HBB1:I don't know if you don't realize this, but I'm really not dragging any point with you. If you notice, my post was directed to a more reasonable person (I don't debate with just anyone on here). So on that note, I've taken note that you believe 15/16 is ripe for uni. Good for you sir, and bye. |

Everlastingson:Why not exclude 'Muslim' from the North, cos not all of them up North are Muslims and of course there are several Muslims in the South who do NOT support that retrogressive policy. It's basically North and South, we seem to have different aims and purposes about life. |

RandomFellow:I'm in support of 17 years. Age 5 Primary One, Age 11 Secondary, Age 17 University, Age 21 Graduate ( for normal 4 years course). So 17 years should be fine for Writing WAEC/NECO/JAMB and University Admissions. |

Nawao for this policy when people are finishing secondary schools at 15. What happens to those people now? They will wait till they get to 18 to write JAMB. |
| Re: FG To Enforce 18-Year Age Limit For WAEC, NECO Exams by babtoundey(m): 1:23pm On Aug 26, 2024 |
These people are apparently confused and clueless. Their confusion shames the word confusion itself. JAMB pegs 16 years as the required age for its applicants WAEC and NECO peg 18 years. Are you supposed to write JAMB before writing WAEC? You write WAEC at 18, gained admission at 20, 21 or even 22. You spend the minimum of 5 or six years in the university because ASUU greed will delay you. At this point, you are 25, 26, 27 or even 28 depending on how lucky you are. NYSC takes away 1 year or 1.5 year. You are a full fledged graduate at 28/29/30. You apply for jobs but you are not qualified because you are expected to be below 24/25 to qualify for reasonable job openings. If you're looking for confusion, come to Nigeria and check the corridors of power. |

This is stupidity at the highest level. I took WAEC (GCE) when I was 14 in SS2 and passed. I took JAMB and WASSCE when I was 15 in SS3 and passed. This is unnecessary. They should rather focus on how to provide quality education. Let the parents and the teachers decide if a child should write either WAEC or JAMB. |

It's welcome development. 80 percent of under 18 candidates that have a sitting results in waec and neco in Nigeria involved in examination malpractices. |

BlueRayDick:You are very correct, when I finished my NYSC I was already 27 years it really affected me because the better jobs I saw were demanding for not more than 25 years. I went for one bank job interview, applicants were many, they only accepted 24 years and below. I had to settle for Less, I have not balance till today. |

Absurd, wrong. FGN has no right to enforce age limit to examinations; not even into universities whose only statutes are what should apply - rather than FGN enforcement. 1999 constitution that should be addressed and the evil polity, economy, and society is not addressed but the unnecessary is what concerns this FGN |

Throwback:At the bolded is just plain insensitivity and brainless thinking from your thick skull. mind you i wrote SSCE at 15+ i can swear on anything on earth that i was top of my class for most part of it and secondly i can swear that if you set a simple physics or math's question between me and most people who were over 20 years old, i will beat them hands down. you lots are just backward thinkers in your shithole country. the best thing i can ever do for my kids and thank God i am in the process of achieving it is to ensure they do not school in your shithole country, where brain dead backward thinkers are making the rules and zombies are supporting them. |
