Secondary market may not come in exactly the number of days you want.

The one I got was for 168 days at 19.7% percent.

So you may need to contact your bank to know the tenors they have and the rates.

1. Contact the investment company and request a 3-month account statement. You can specify the exact start date if known.
2. Review the statement to calculate unpaid interest over weekends.
3. Estimate outstanding interest using the rate between the Thursday & Friday before each identified weekend (this will be my conservative approach).
4. Send them your breakdown and request a refund.

Please I need investment advice.

I'm kinda stuck investing my USD funds with my bank in like a fixed deposit at 6% with very heavy penalty (80%) if terminated prematurely.

Please I need better alternative as I don't know any and how to go about it. This is my life saving so I'm kinda cautious so I don't lose it. The failure of Heritage bank and the abysmal NDIC coverage is making me have second thoughts about holding my investment in any Nigerian bank.

Is the amount I have too small to invest directly in USD denominated bonds?

If no, please how can I get started?

Please help copy other knowledgeable people here to guide me.

I don't think the liquidation/winding up of bank can not affect the bill/bond you bought in any way. Let your mind be at rest.

So your bond, TB or whatever securities bought is periodically or finally repaid through your bank account.
If that bank gets liquidated, your account number also goes away with it.
So there will be some impact, which may finally be rectified with some discomfort... Abi you no reason am so?

TB and bonds are purchased by FG and not bank, and the money left your account to CBN's account immediately if the bid is successful. So, I doubt whether it could be affected by liquidation.

I may be wrong though.

What happens on expiration or end of tenure? Won't the money be returned to the original bank account? What happens if the bank no longer exist?
