Breaking News: Tsunami in APC as Moghalu dumps party

Former Managing Director of National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) and Former National Auditor of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Dr George Moghalu (Ohamadike) has resigned from the party.

Moghalu dumped the APC after submitting a letter of his resignation dated 26th August, 2024, which he addressed to his Uruagu Ward 1 chairman of APC in Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area of Anambra state.

The letter reads: "I bring to you the good wishes of my dear family and to formally notify you of my decision to resign my Membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC with effect from today 26th day of August, 2024."

"Please Kindly accept this as a personal decision."

"It is my utmost desire and expectation that all of us will continue to maintain the cordial relationship that we have built together over the years."

"I wish you and all the Members of the Party the very best. Please accept as always the assurance of my best regard," the letter concluded.

Moghalu was one of the founding Fathers of APC in Nigeria.

He was the coordinating secretary that gave birth to the APC during the Merger. He ran for Governorship Ticket on the Party's Platform on two occasions (2017 and 2021).

His last outing with the APC was during the State Youth Wing Conference in Awka where he donated handsomely to the Youth Wing.

When contacted, Moghalu said his next political move would be made public in due course.

He is actually inconsequential. Infact, Anambra APC is almost non existent like Enugu. The only politicians with small relevance are the late Ifeanyi ubah, Hon Ibezi,Hon umeoji,Ikedife jun and sen Ekwunife

Youre right. Apc has no foothold in both anambra and enugu. Moghalu was a good party man and a good organizer and resource person. The only problem was that he wasnt empowered like ngige with a powerful appointment.

Not true. Buhari gave him NIWA.muoghalu is more of an inhouse administrator not a grassroot politician.he is best suited to the APC exco or any corporate office whereas Ngige is grassrooted

As MD of NIWA for 4years, you will richer than some Ministers. That place is a quiet goldmine where they eat money without noise.

Op is even more frustrated than moghalu self. Irrelevant, sidelined, rejected and booted out.

I remember the late Ogbonnaya Onu, Chris Ngige, Rochas Okorocha, Chekwas Chikwe etc among many Igbo APC stalwarts and how their journey in the APC ended. This is why I really feel sorry for Benjamin Kalu and his political shenanigans in the Abia State polity.
