Hypocrite! for every Mike Oluwole there are hundreds of uncle uchemba,Uchendu taking a big chunk part young nwa boys through apprentice system , beaten them to death or throwing them out with nothing after years of hard labour and surferring
He wasn't convicted of any of the allegations. The guy is just being unlucky

I support you 💯 for this.

However I have a feeling that this was the actual reason he got you arrested. You were "advising" a boss you just resigned from to learn leadership skills because of how he chose to collect his money from a fraudulent staff. That's insulting. If the client really had problems with paying into the company's account, why didn't the staff inform the boss and probably request the boss's account number instead instead of asking clients to pay into his own account? Who knows if the guy has been collecting money like that before undetected?
Even from your own account you deserved to be punished. [Maybe not 10months in jail though, but you deserved some form of punishment.]
I was like, what da fvck? He went too far on an issue that didn't concern him and when it was clear that the staff member was wrong and that was even after he had resigned.
Even from his story, his boss didn't wish for this terrible outcome

I read between the lines of this story, this guy is practically unemployable and has an attitude problem. He is the type that destroys staff morale and destroys people's businesses. He should better work on himself before he turns 30.

You come begging for a job, and when you get it, you resign abruptly without even a week's notice, putting the business of that person on the line. That's wicked. Why not give the notice, so he either delegate or replace you ASAP? Useless sense of entitlement of Gen Zs.

If you needed a written appointment why did you not politely ask for it? If the appointment was not formalized, why were you collecting the salary?

You even had the guts to give lectures about leadership skills, after your colleague collected money with his account, instead of the company's account, that's criminal, you truant rat. If the bank's network is not working, will you send the money to the teller's personal account at the bank if you go to deposit millions at the bank?

The fact that you are not in good terms with your disciplinarian ex-soldier father says a lot. We all know why. You lack discipline and this has led you in and out of prison at several times, and this may not be your last visit. I assure you.

Fix yourself, learn vital discipline, make peace with your Dad, and be courteous, else you will have it hot in this wicked world. My two pence.
Re: I Spent 10 Months In Prison For Resigning Via SMS — 26-Year-Old Photography by DrAda(f):
While I am against his mode of incarceration, it is very hard to believe that the young man is of good character evidenced by the following...

- His father is a retired soldier
- He is not in good terms with anyone, not even his parents, or siblings
- He informed noone that he was in prison because of an existing bad reputation within the family
- He has been imprisoned before for theft
- His reason for insulting his boss was because a colleague was accused of theft
- The boss that reportedly sent him to jail also sent some money for bail
- The same boss tried to withdraw the case but couldn't

The whole story sounds like fiction

-------------------------------------------------------------------
On a side note, I observed that the nairalanders who were able to detect the myriad of issues in this young man's story are either employers of labour or leaders in their respective fields. Managing people for a living tends to enhance one's ability to separate the wheat from the chaff.

Both parties should learn from this

In other words, you were locked up for defending a thief.

The only issue I have with this is the long-term remand due to his inability to make bail.
It is time we found better ways of ensuring court attendance other than imposing
overbearing bail on poor suspects.
100k bail condition reduced to 50k was more than a humane bail condiition. He kept the matter away from his entire family members with the exception of one brother who was equally useless. Didn't he have friends? Where was the thieving colleague he was defending? I hope he has learnt his lessons to mind his business, have friends, be in good terms with his family members, etc

Hmmmm .... he a journalist.... his best friend lost his camera and lenses... said he didn't take them ... but settled amicably. Did he have a camera at the time? ... can't swallow this story. He was arrested for resigning and insulting the boss. What were the exact charges? Who would not want their family to knows? If true ... then he should sue the boss. Waste of time most will say but people have done so successfully.

Humane is relative.
There are people whose account balance has never exceeded 20K and may happen
to be the star in their immediate family.
If you give such a person 20K bail, they will never get out of jail unless with external help.

Moreover, bail condition in civil suit should be based on what the suspect can reasonably
afford and not the entire family assumed net worth.

I do not believe the boy's narration about keeping it from his family because the Nigerian
jail is not where anybody wants to be for that long if they have viable options.

He most likely have fallen out badly with majority of them and couldn't reach out.

How will you resign unceremoniously and still go ahead and send text message days after to your boss advising him huh (This could pass for an insult)
No employer is happy losing a good employee.

You've resigned fine, go on with your life. For me the main reasons for your resignation should be best known to you.

As for the Boss, it's sheer wickedness to lock someone's child away for 10 whole months for insulting you. The punishment outweighs the offence, this is too much.

The accused account balance can't be the problem of the judges as 100k or 50k is not that hard for family members and friends to raise for you.
My point still remain the fact that he hid his ordeal from friends and family. I'm sure that if you are arrested or charged to court or remand in prison today, the first thing you would do is to reach out to your family and friends, that's what any sane person would do.
Though, I sympathise with him, nobody deserves that kind of treatment. But this dude did so many things wrong after his arrest

Good 10 month in prison all because someone resigned from the jungle work you offered him via sms? Did he stole your scrotal sag or did you caught him on top of your wife banging her for you to be this wicked.

Any reasonable human being will know you're as useless as the in p..sychology in that your family.
You had issues with your dad
You had issues with a friend who led you to prison
You got a job, you messed up, and it led u to Prison again.
See, No matter how useless your boss it, quiting job via SmS is wrong and disrespectful but it should not lead anyone to prison.

The court granted a fine of 100k. They had mercy by reducing by half, yet you couldn't afford to pay and not a single person in your family or friends who can help you. Omo!

My conclusion is that you're a bad person.
My advice; go back home and make things with your family.

Nothing more fragile than a man ego.

When will we teach men to put their egos in place? You all were thinking that is only women that would shrink themselves to fit men ego? No! Men as well.

Wars and lives have been lost due to men ego.

Wait, am confused. Insulting someone privately in now an offence?
Nigeria police eh, I blame them and not the person that instigated his arrest. Why wound the police arrest him and charge him to court and a judge that graduated from god knows where even sentenced him? There must be something this guy is not telling us because I can't see how you will be locked up for insulting someone privately via text. It was not even on social media.

One of the Cardinal points in law is that offence and punishment must be commensurate. When that doesn't happen, it amounts to injustice.

Phone that they will jack and comport message themselves.

The colleague collected the money and later on transferred it to the company. That is the full gist.

Any business owner knows this happens. If someone steals, you ask for refund and sack,we have belittled police alot by invoking them in trival issues
