The Chelsea offer was a loan deal with an obligation to buy. Had he taken it, he would have been stuck with a $4 million per annum salary against his hefty $11 million with Napoli.

The Galatasaray deal is a straight-out loan deal between 2024 and 2025. In 2026, his contract with Napoli will end, so he is eating into the Napoli contract to the point that he can walk away.

Osihmen's only mistake was extending his contract with Napoli last year; that was a very poor decision that protected Napoli's assets but left him at the mercy of Napoli's owners.

Going to Gala is better than playing with the reserves. He gets experience from mourinho, he plays CL football, his salary stays the same and after he has only 1 yr left on his contract. At which point he can run down his contract and get a transfer to a good club on good wages and a big sign on fee. That’s the play.

It’s a good deal for Osinmhen given the circumstances because it also means Napoli are paying part of his wages.
