Joezinho:You were not speaking about Kvara's contribution to Napoli's title winning campaign.. you downright talked down on Osimhen's contribution... I could go through your profile and pull out screenshots, but that would completely be unnecessary.. Like it or not, Osimhen is ours.. its only right that we support him... |

BascoVanVeli:There were two contract extensions. The one of last season that upped his wages to ~€10M a year and inserted the €100M+ release clause into his contract. It also extended his contract from end of summer 2025 until summer 2026. The 2nd one reduced his release clause to €75M and increased his contract from summer 2026 to summer 2027. Usually, when players agree on a new wage/deal terms, they extend the contract as well. He messed up by signing that initial contract extension. That is where, as you correctly put it, he was being too loyal to Napoli. He should have stuck to his current contract then that was due to expire in summer 2025. If he did, he could leave next summer on a free unless Napoli sold him for a decent price. My thing is this, Napoli have a history of overvaluing players that prevent them from moving. Look at what happened with Koulibaly. Kim-Min Jae left because he had a reasonable release clause in his contract (less than €50M). Release clauses rarely ever benefit the player, it’s mainly for the club. Only time it may benefit a player is if the release clause is reasonably priced. Haaland’s release clause was €60M. High enough that not just any club can afford it, but not so high that it may impact the player’s future compensation. People forget the equation for acquiring a player is transfer fees+wages. If a club doesn’t have to shell out €60M on transfer fees, the player can ask for a portion of that fee as a salary or signing bonus (like Mbappe). |

Ademola's path to the African player of the year award looks sure now with that nomination. Two Nigerians winning it back to back is wonderful news for Nigerian football image. If only our useless NFF weren't the cog in the wheel of our progress... imagine having a superb generation of players yet world cup isn't looking certain! Smh. |

Back to back African footballer of the year and another Golden generation. Some millionaire just needs to risk it by funding a world class coach. We cannot waste another Golden generation |

Bannedlargejr:Walahi, it will be a travesty if this generation of players (arguably the most talented we've had since the 94 set) fail to qualify for two consecutive world cups, majority of our players are already in their prime 20's...NFF might as well be disbanded. But the next generation are looking exciting: Chrisantus Uche Onyedika Fisayo Hamzat Ojediran Victor Orakpo Gift Orban Vince Osuji Akinsanmiro Boniface etc Iwobi, Ademola, Ola Aina, Osimhen, Ndidi, Simon Moses and Onyeka are already in their prime and need a world cup tournament. |

mrwilliams9:It’s easier said than done, if he didn’t prove to seen as loyal, many folks here would have bashed the player saying how ungrateful he is to the club. Too much analysis is paralysis and life is never straightforward most times you just live one day per time and hope that tomorrow is better. One major victory the player has achieved is to prevent humiliation from a club he helped to win a title by being confined to the bench and we just need to appreciate that. All these talk about the Turkish league as if it’s in another continent outside Europe is what I don’t get, I bet you if this player had ended up in Saudi we will be hearing how finished he is as a player by naysayers. It’s high time we all move on and wish VO all the best in his career ahead. My focus now is what he can still deliver for our national team before he gets much older. Period |
