I prefer clinical football. Not this one that worked out chances are wasted or gifted, lucky chances are throw away so carelessly. Both are problems in the Super Eagles for like 3years now. |

That Ratomo kid for South Africa is a delight to watch Uganda from the few minutes I watched(30 minutes or so) didn't deserve a point imo |

Just looking at this SA-Uganda result really saddens me. Nigeria had no business losing to Benin republic. Drawing with Lesotho and the likes. Marjoribanks:Please, we need to retire this 442 setup. We don’t have the midfield profile to execute it properly. 3-5-2 is our best bet. Midfield 3 of Onyeka-Onyedika-Iwobi. Far more balanced. |

I still recall that stunt Rohr pulled by including Olise's name in the provisional squad for one of our games back then. It caused an uproar in the media. Lol kennysville: |

The irony is that we go still post more results like these. We are at a disadvantage because we are behind. Birds of same feather truly flock together. elyte89: |

Marjoribanks:Damn beautiful football, what we want is a win. You know if Eguavoen doesn’t win tomorrow he’s going the way of Finidi even if he gives us sexy football and penetrating passes, nobody go hear story if he doesn’t win |

TheSuperNerd:It's not so much about Gaurdiola but the system. I harbor no ill feelings towards the man beyond the fact that he's responsible for this dead pan football. I saw that video on X and it elicited different reactions. Some positive, some negative. |

Raphael Onyedika, Alhassan Yusuf and Alex lwobi, are my preferred midfield three. This combination will win duels, dominate the midfield with passes and ball retention, progress the ball to the final third, and support the attack. It will take a lot of nerves for any S.E coach to play those three. |

| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Philosopher1979: 1:31am On Sep 07, 2024 |
charlesemeka85:Things like that are done in friendlies. That is why I wonder what exactly our coaches are trying out in friendlies. Secondly, our attacke needs ighalos finishing. On the average we create more chances than our opponent. Even if you play defensive football you will loose if you don't convert your chances. Ighalo has the confidence to convert chances. These other strikers we have lack the confidence and experience to convert chances into goals. He can come in I'm the last 30 minutes to convert our chances into goals. It is not about competition. He does not always have to play but whenever we need to score he can come in and play. Roger Milla played this role at italia 90. Experience counts in football |

kentebemoney:I'm OK with the 4-2-3-1 variation, but the flat out 4-4-2? No!! Against Tunisia, he saw that our wings were clipped, so, he thought to tweak things by bringing Iwobi in to make things happen from the middle, too bad he was sent off just moments after coming on. AE is definitely not to blame for that. |
