Ogun should be working on the list of those who doubted Osimhen by now.

The subtitutions are bad
Revert to 433, remove one defender and bring in a midfielder to stabilize and support Ndidi and iwobi.
With a balanced midfield any player we have upfront can do the job.
Replacing a player of kind to kind is a sign of no solution.
NFF must do the needful NOW
I totally agree with you. He should have brought on an extra midfielder. He is lucky we are playing an inferior team. With what u saw I don't believe in eguavon.
He should have brought on an extra midfielder so we have 3 men in midfield. His substitutions were bad

I was saying to charlesemeka85 that while it appears on paper that we have attackers, I necessarily don't think so because most of them apart from Osimhen and Lookman most of them are not reliable.

I just hope that Boniface settles in and gives us that much needed bite
Boniface will come good, he’s an important player in this set up. Pray Lookman doesn’t get injured what are your other options.

You cannot beat Rohr's Benin like that. Rohr is good at parking the bus. Also we don't even have the midfielders to achieve that.
We cannot?

When I saw him warming up I knew the match was done. Kudos to Eguavoen, he really saved enough fire on the bench. I give him his flowers for today

Eguavoen has sealed his legacy as one of the best managers to ever come from Nigeria, he has been in the game for long and has never cowered when called up to steady the ship. The man has been vilified so much because he's the quiet and modest type but his coaching records are actually very impressive based on winning ratio.

My ranking of Nigeria's best coaches will be:

Keshi
Eguavoen
Samson Siasia.
How about Amodu?

The win in Benin was pure fluke.
It was such a fluke that’s why I’m so pissed. They had no business winning. We dropped points in such a crucial game.

SE has this knack of winning the small game but losing the big game.

Example: We have a better h2h against Cameroon but we are 0-3 against them in AFCON finals.

We beat CIV in the last AFCON group stage but then lost to them in the final.

Same thing here. Beat Benin in AFCONQ but lost to them in the more crucial WCQ.

Anyway, great win. We need another 3pts on Tuesday.

Good thing Rwanda is in our AFCONQ group. It will give us prep for WCQ against them

According to the match stats, we completed 435 passes today.. I don't think we have reached that number in recent games.. at the AFCON in particular, I doubt we completed up to 300 passes in a game..

that being said, I don't think this 2 man midfield will benefit us in the long run, especially with Iwobi starting.... Iwobi is a fantastic player most of the time for the SE, but he isn't a workaholic, and partnering him with Ndidi or any other DM will lead to both gassing out quicker... Eguavon needs to reconsider..

Qudos to coach eguaveon for always taking up the super eagles job whenever he his called upon, that's real patriotism.

When we tell some people we should be whipping most of these African teams they will say one is the being delusional.

Honestly won't forgive NFF if we eventually miss out on the WC.

if we had stuck with Rohr, we would have been far better than what we are today, now we are stuck with a make-shift coach with no significant experience but we want him to perform miracles, even if we win today, i hope the day he loses we will not call for his head
Na now I feel like descending on you for daring to make Rohr look so good that it will take a miracle to beat him.

Meanwhile I still Dey in d race my lawyer …e no mean say I endorse eguavoen
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by minfelix(m):
they just keep rubbishing the man with fire brigade approach…everytime calling eguavoen to save a ship that has long sunk in the ocean
NFF messed up in 2005 WCQ they brough in eguavoen to complete the last teo matches…na 2-5 baba first flog African powerhouse Algeria, catch Zimbabwe destroyed them 5-1 carry una reach semifinal of the next 4months the following year…2007 una sack bring one otelemuye Berti vogt

when una realise Rohr groundnut was playing rubbish in 2021 una no renew contract, una still bring Eguavoen to come suffer again…baba still within a few space held Ghana(African powerhouse) to draw affair home and away
he went ahead months later to sweep teams away at afcon..small mistake against Tunisia una sack am bring in “Jose agbeiro”(although i go still respect am for taking us to the final via 1-0,1-0,1-1) he tried sha.

not some people glorifying a 5yrs old stayed coach with words like
“we qualified with game to spare”
“we qualified without permutations”
Anyways let me appreciate Rohr for those record, my stand will always be he is not better than some of our coaches that achieved his bronze medal under 1year

Honestly, bring Bashiru in won us the match easily. Benin had started to push us back and created some good chances before he was brought in. He came on, steadied the team and changed the midfield battle. Kudos to Eguavon for making the right sub.

Yes! OSIMHEN JUST DISPLACED THE YAK ON THE ALL TIME TOP SCORERS LIST OF THE SUPER EAGLES.

ONLY SEGUN ODEGBAMI (23) AND RASHIDI YEKINI (37) HAS more SUPER EAGLES goals than THE Monster Machine.

History beckons.
Updated All time Top Scorers List (SUPER EAGLES)

37 - Rashidi Yekini
23 - Segun Odegbami
22 - Victor Osimhen🆕️
21 - Yakubu Aiyegbeni
19 - Ikechukwu Uche
18 - Obafemi Martins
17 - Sunday Oyarekhua

Osimhen wants that all time record.

Typical of Nigerians with selective amnesia; one of many reasons why we deserve bad and clueless leaders.

You hail AE after one match same way Finidi was rated yet was cursed by the same people.

Good win and congratulations to AE and the Eagles..
But going forward, we shouldn't use a 2 man midfield against better teams..
We need to find a way to play 3 midfielders
We need to CONTROL games

But we take the 3 points today
Congrats to the boys!
Congratulations to AE

Bring on Rwanda!!!
